The thought of having a random nervous breakdown and killing myself in a moment of temporary insanity scares me tbqh
Does this happen? Would some people who killed themselves have been fine if they just somehow endured the tantrum-like episode without having the access to tools to kill themselves, and then somehow gotten emotionally better after, whether it be from therapy or medication?

I've had many breakdowns where i've come close to killing myself. Luckily I talk myself down from it, but I get pretty worked up sometimes.
I'm prescribed benzos and I usually have my worst breakdowns on benzos, which is ironic. If I feel myself spiraling I take a break from the meds, even though I feel worse it's better for my life in the long run.
I'm right here with you OP, just try and make mental notes every single day never to do it no matter how low you go, for me making mental notes of how I feel after I calm down is what keeps me alive.
