Incorrect, it's one of the few churches actually started by an apostle. Certain Orthodox churches claim the same, and are probably right.

The difference is, we actually allow for sin. It's low effort if you want it to be. For those of us that actually care about how Jesus would want us to act, it's pretty high effort, but you'll find it's mostly straightforward.

Why would God intentionally make life harder if you were following His will?

How do I get around being incapable of believing in a god? I wasn't raised religious, and can't bring myself to blindly believe in something.

If there is a god, why would he create me a lesbian and then tell me I'm not allowed to love anyone because it's sinful? Isn't that kind of cruel? I thought god was supposed to be kind. I either have the choice of being lonely my whole life and probably go to hell anyway for even being same sex attracted, or not being religious.

If there is a god, who is perfect almighty, and loving, why would he create man with the ability to sin and cause pain?

but here's the problem, the RCC demonstrably denies the absolute standard of perfection required by God when it comes to Sin - as evidenced by the doctrines of Mortal and Venial Sin

see Venial Sin is said by the RCC to be a somewhat lesser evil than Mortal Sin - in that Venial Sin does not necessarily lead to eternal seperation from God

but this is an affront to Christ, since ALL sin is inherently 'Mortal', demanding absolute seperation from God as its fit punishment - else he wouldn't have died on the cross to pay for it

yet somewhere along the line the RCC diverged from the faith held once and for all by the Saints - recorded for us by the Apostles and the Early Church Fathers - and evolved this anthrocentric doctrine of lesser Sin

and this is a denial of the Holiness of God, for when the RCC say that the Holy One in whom there is no shadow can turn a blind eye to Sin, they blaspheme Him


so if you want the best way to understanding God, you must look to the revelation of God found in the God-man, Christ Jesus - and as the blessed Virgin said in John 2:5 'Do whatever he tells you'

So murder is equal to not paying 10% of your salary according to God then? Mortal sins are mortal sins because it takes such a disconnect from God in order to commit them, that it's hellish. Venial sins will land you in purgatory, sure, but you're probably still going to Heaven in the long run. The very long run, but still. Mortal sins can land you in Hell because it demonstrates that you don't want a connection with God. And God doesn't force that, so off to Hell with you. It's not a torturous place, either, just a place devoid of God.
