Hello again, anons. Some of you may remember an OP performing a thorough rorschach battery on /r9k/ some weeks ago. I'm back to collect more data in an effort to determine what ultimately it is that turns people into robots.

Below is a survey I'd like you to fill out if you have a moment. All replies are saved and printed later for study.

I should have put an option for "diagnosed with a mental illness by a professional" there, but it's too late to fix it I suppose.

Also nice job on snagging a girlfriend without a car or a job.

So far what I've begun to discern is that there seems to be some baseline of misery under certain conditions that precipitates one becoming a robot.

As you can see above there are only a few things that many robots have in common. It appears not to be a result of a strict criteria of things that must be met but robots appear to report at least similar numbers of woes, even if those woes vary widely.

Why robots fall into this place and simply don't become depressed normies remains to be discovered.

I'm certain the sole thing separating robots from normies is autism. Who are you anyways, OP? What is your background and why are you doing this?
>>
>>38307233
To add to the above there is one unifying aspect that appears. Many robots miss the normal time to have children, even if they can manage to get laid.

Throughout all the data I've collected so far I'm the only robot that is a parent.

I'm just a wagecuck who needs something to pass the time with now and then.

This is an earnest effort to tease out exactly what creates one of the people here. There's a certain recurring malaise that seems to plague most of the posters and the board in general, at least it seems to me. Granted, I'm here too. I'm taking this somewhat seriously and have been cracking open books that seem relevant to what I'm attempting here.

About the father thing.. It sometimes eats me up inside..
Deep down I love him, and I know he loves me more than anyone in the world.
We both are very similar, we have huge trouble expressing our feelings. Some times and too often, I would explode in internal rage in a matter of minutes. That rage is directed at dad mostly for things long gone. Like him berating me to study better and such.
What saddens me is that I know he won't be around forever and the years are passing quickly.. I just wish we had a better relationship but it seems impossible. Our relationship has reached a point of homeostasis based on minimal interaction even though we live in the same house.
I am almost tearing up as I write this.
I feel as if my relationship with him has inflicted lots of pain on me.

Now I haven't had time yet to examine or integrate the information this public survey will give me, especially since it still seems to be going, but I'll tell you my roughest guess.

It's a very personal and most likely wrong supposition but I believe that missing the chance to have children at the same time as your peers meant something akin to a railroad switch being activated psychologically.

It all could've been made up and things could be glossed over in the future for many robots if they had at least a kid to prove they were normal enough to reproduce at least at some point in their lives. People who didn't have kids "on time" or never have them are viewed in a slightly different light and I think deep down a lot of robots know this.

You may need a real therapist focused on family issues to help you navigate that one, anon.

The best I can say is I had a difficult relationship with my dad until I apologized for being an ass often years ago.

Having a therapist just isn't a possibility for many reasons.
Putting that aside..
I was never a bad son, AS FAR AS I KNOW. Mom sometimes usually tells me that I can be very stubborn and unbending, but dad is exactly the same. We are very similar.
I don't know what the problem is exactly, perhaps there isn't one. I think it is that our relationships lacks intimacy.

I know that my dads "love language"/is providing material goods and comforts.
He works so hard so we have what we need, bland he expects intimacy in return. I think that is the fucked up point.

I even can't tell him I love him. I just can't say that word.

Not being a virgin doesn't mean much, at least virgins don't know what they're missing out on, having a girl who thought really well of you leave in fear after uncovering the real mess you are hurts as bad as being a virgin
>>
>>38307874
this desu i'd rather be a virgin than face the rejection
>>
>>38307770
People in the family often said the same thing of me and my father; that we're both very stubborn. We've been compared to more than once as two bulls going head to head when we start to disagree.

When it hurts you because you two are at an impasse reached through stubbornness and hostility it hurts him just the same. He's just older and tougher and better at hiding it. Also he might have been in your boots once before too. Try apologizing sometime and kind of mean it. It worked for me.
>>
>>38307305
You're skipping some steps ahead, nevermind children, a robot shouldn't even have girlfriends. This board's population is mostly in the sub-25 range too, which isn't really missing the ideal range for having children.
If I had to identify a reason for why the people browsing this board do so, it's because they happened to come here. There's a lot of different people with varied backgrounds. You'd have to limit the scope to a strict definition of robot to be able to draw any conclusions.

The homosexual, etc. was intended to cover things like extreme deviancy or perversions.

And I'm not at university. I have some college but going back won't be possible for a good ten years. I like to continue to educate myself after work now and then so I opted to see what I could learn and use about psychology and its cousins to figure out what makes a man a robot, which I've spent some time mulling over.

Books are used and studies are pulled and after one to three more rounds of data I'll publish the results like a study here.
>>
>>38308183
That's a shame, in my country the government foots the bill for University. You sound like a bright guy, too. Do you personally consider yourself a robot? I'm looking forward to reading your findings.

There's a problem with your question set. You've specifically chosen parameters that you think cause someone to be a robot. People who identify with those questions will respond at a higher rate than robots that don't have those characteristics

I'm a robot, I think. I'm always on 200% edge with everyone all of the time no matter the interaction and I was never abused in any way that I could blame it on that. I give the appearance of being functioning enough while at the same time any kind of person-to-person interaction is freaking me the fuck out.

That's a really good point you've got there, anon. How do you suggest to remedy the issue you've brought up?

Did / do have a controlling mother who shows signs of OCD. Dad used to work until 10pm most days when I was little, so I didn't see him that often. I remember sitting on Santa's lap and telling him I wanted to see daddy more often. Generally they have always been overprotective.
