What color eyes does everyone have? It's the lighting in the picture. But it also has to do with eye color. People with lighter eyes such as blue don't absorb as much light as people with darker eyes. This is why people with lighter eyes have worse night vision.

Use the Eyedropper Tool on photoshop you pricks will see it is blue and a reflective black surface ( that is reflecting yellow light) you will never get white though, only a dirty golden color at the very top of the black stripes.
>>
>>38297154
>literally in direct sunlight
try again
>>
>>38298053

The stripes are from an iridescent black material that is very reflective, it is reflecting some light that is very near to it, however I see it more gray than golden except for the upper right in the last 3 stripes with most of them just being gray, white though, is NOWHERE to be seen.

Maybe negroids are less sensible at colours and more to the movement, you know being on Africa with all kinds of megafauna hunting them down and it was all a huge experiment to see how much of the society had been blackened.
>>
>>38297927

Yet OP's pic is nowhere near that uniform, I bet it has to do with race on how sensible are people to colours, I believe negroids have poor color vision since they are hyper mega ultra masculine and they see movement better.

please if you see white and gold state your race or if you are mixed.
>>
>>38296976

It seems black and blue, but that's only due to shading. There is light in the background that you can see, and the dress itself is in the shade, darkening the colors. One would reckon that it's supposed to be white and gold.

The problem for me is you have such obvious white and yellow tones contrasting the dress in the original image I don't understand how anyone sees the illusion.

Not that anyone cares but the thing I found most interesting was that it was worn to a wedding on a tiny Scottish island one up from my homeland. Meaning I've been in the same room *on the boat) as that dress
>>
>>38300454
You see humans have this thing called intelligence. We can tell that the dress is black with some light shining on it. Computers are autistic robots and take everything at face value. They don't realize that there is a bright light shining on the dress, and think that the reflection of the light is the actual colour of the dress.
>>
>>38300454
>Oh look, a randomly picked colors are of different shades.

No shit. Did you really think anyone here says that a perfect black color exists in nature?

Doesn't change the fact that if you are not a retard you can clearly tell that this dress is blue and BLACK, even in this lighting that is shown on the picture. It has definately something to do with IQ, there's no other way around it.
>>
To me, it's just a dark brown and blue dress that under certain lighting looks a lighter shade of brown and a lighter shade of blue.
>>
>>38300641
THIS, which I pretty mucha said again here - >>38300690

Those retards will never understand it. How fuckign retarded one has to be to not see with his fucking eyes that even under that lighting it's still a blue and BLACK dress. Of course I mysel see the gold tint, but I still know it's black.
>>
>>38300600
It's not about IQ but it is about visual IQ, and if you can't tell from the pic you have a low visual IQ, it's okay, you can still be super smart and have low visual Iq.
I mean the pic isn't even a trick image, it has background and lots of depth and lighting ques.
>>38297927
Unlike this image. Yeah if you only loot at the cut out, it changes color, but only after the cutout is on the compete right side of the shadow line. Even when it's with the yellow side, I can still tell the cutout is blue till it crosses completely over to shadow part.
It here is the thing! The op image has the compete pic, not just the right half in shadow, so you don't have any tricks
>>
>>38299140
It's because you brain perceives it either as having the blue overlay or the gold overlay, because you can't tell what the lighting is in the room.
>>
>>38300557
no, i already understand in real life the dress is blue and black, but presented in the image the colors are definitively gold and blue. The fact that you couldn't see the golden hue and still can't see it means you're wrong and you need your eyes checked.
>>
>>38296976

>The fact that you couldn't see the golden hue and still can't see it means you're wrong and you need your eyes checked.

>>
>>38300777

>>
>>38300640
From what I understand our brain tries to account for natural lighting when looking at objects and eliminate the changes in hues caused by the sun. The people that see the dress as black and blue are processing it as a black and blue dress seen during the day, eliminating the brighter colors, while the people that see it as white and gold are processing it as a white and gold dress seen at night, eliminating the darker colors.

You either see the dress under yellow lighting, or in a blueish shade.
>>
>>38300774

the golden is just reflected from the black because the fabric is reflective I totally see it but it IS not golden same as how the water is not blue is just the ocean reflecting the sky however seeing white is what I dont get, and object in shade does not changes color it gets darker, a way for white to appear other colors is to shine a colored light on to it, which is not the chase, if you were to paint this same scene you will see you will HAVE to use blue, night is not fucking blue either night does not project as the color blue ( it only looks like that in less which is again the blue ozone layer just receiving the last rays of light. than an hour just after sunset).
>>
>>38299060
I am the same way. I have never been able to see it as white and gold because the environment looks too bright to allow the illusion. It was also spoiled for me early on which makes it impossible for me to see it. I understand the illusion I just can't see, like those magic eye things from the 90's.

Grasping at straws, you actully can tell. It's like you've never seen a photograph before or something, and there is lots of halo and background stuff and we know you can actully tell because many people got it right.
>>
>>38300837
We see the damn dress as white and gold because there's a light source in the background and everything we know about the way light works says that the part that is illuminated is not the part in the picture, and the part that is in the picture is in shadow. And since the dress is in shadow it appears darker than it is.

Now there is probably another light source behind the camera, and then this is just a shitty picture.

Which is very likely the case considering I know the dress is actually blue and black. But it fucking looks like it is white and gold.
>>
>>38297144

In other words - I am not retarded and my brain functions well.

It's a blue/black dress that due to lighting appears white/gold. Most people will see white/gold as there's not a lot of context to go off of to see it in its real colors. But some people have perceptive enough eyes to see blue/black.
>>
>>38296976
Typical r9k thread again?
You see white and gold when you're an introvert.
You see blue and black when you're an extrovert.

The lightconditions of your daily life make your brain have slightly different assumptions about the colours you see.
More Artificial light = white + gold
More Sunlight = blue + black

There's been plenty of research about this people, stop bringing it back.

Perhaps, though I have another theory based on the fact that mostly women and older people seeing it as white and gold. Based on women being more geared towards survival, like how they're more easily disgusted (except when aroused), that it might make more sense for their brain to process something as being something seen during the night before the day since that's when they're most vulnerable. Then they simply continue to see it incorrectly because the odd lighting makes it seem like their initial assumption was correct. Same for old people except they probably gained the need to see things correctly at night due to their weaken stare of being old.
In short, people that see the blue dress have a hunter's mind, identifying things during the day, while people that see the white dress have a survival mind, identifying things during the night.

If you look hard enough and idk flex your occipital lobe, you can see both and willingly change your perception of the colors. I love this image for that reason.

Playing games all the time doesn't expose you to a lot of artificial white/blueish light, it really depends on what games you play.

The artifical light that you use is yellow and not brightly white, as such your brain doesn't have to adapt for new light conditions.
>>

as a thumbnail i see white and gold, when i make the image bigger i can see both, the top part of the dress looks white/gold and the bottom looks black/blue, although its easy enough to make yourself see the other colour
>>
In conclusion to this thread. Presented in the image, the dress clearly displays midtones of gold and blue. As for the actual color of the dress, without cheating and looking it up, due to the lighting being uncertain and lack of referencing objects, the actual color is uncertain (again, without cheating).

Clockwise or Counterclockwise
Left or Right
>The Spinning Dancer, also known as the silhouette illusion, is a kinetic, bistable optical illusion resembling a pirouetting female dancer. The illusion, created in 2003 by web designer Nobuyuki Kayahara,[1][2] involves the apparent direction of motion of the figure. Some observers initially see the figure as spinning clockwise (viewed from above) and some counterclockwise. Additionally, some may see the figure suddenly spin in the opposite direction.[2]
>The illusion derives from the lack of visual cues for depth. For instance, as the dancer's arms move from viewer's left to right, it is possible to view her arms passing between her body and the viewer (that is, in the foreground of the picture, in which case she would be circling counterclockwise on her right foot) and it is also possible to view her arms as passing behind the dancer's body (that is, in the background of the picture, in which case she is seen circling clockwise on her left foot).

Why is it always that the most low iq people try to equate everything to iq?

Its purely about color processing. Its not visual iq either (which has nothing to do with color). Its slightly different wiring in the brain that makes someone recognize certain hues as different colors.

>>38304386
It looks like a pale shade of blue at first glade, but some people (like me) consider that since there's a light source behind the dress, we see the side of the dress covered in shade (although this wasn't actually the case) so we intuit white with a shadow.

>>38302947

It's about how we assess lighting/shading in a picture and the assumptions we make/conclusions we draw.
This is why people ITT using colour pickers in photoshop for the answer are idiots.
>>
>>38296976
People who see white and gold can't differentiate between artificial and natural light, like most women who don't ever stop to think about that sort of thing.they are too busy eyeing up chads than wondering what goes on behind the scenes.

the lighting is undefined period. You can't tell what the dress color is without knowing the lighting actually is. the colors displayed in this image are flat out blue and gold and there's no denying that. You couldn't see the gold,I had to color pick it to show you it wasn't black, it doesn't matter what the actual color is because we don't know what the actual lighting is, you lost.

I was never able to see how anyone can possibly see white and gold.

>you actully can tell.

Yup. Basically people who see White and Gold are just wrong about the lighting conditions.
They see the bright light in the background and their brain assumes that the side of the dress facing us is in the shade, and their visual system over compensates.
People who see Blue and Black have spotted the shadows on in the folds of the dress, they can tell that there is actually a lot of light falling on the side of the dress we see, and so their brains get the Actual colour of the dress.
>>
>>38306329
you seriously can't see the gold?
refer to
>>38300454

tell me that's not gold then get your eyes checked.
>>
I can pretty much switch my perception of what colors it is on the fly.

It's like those spinning silhouettes things, where you can trick your brain into seeing it spinning in either direction.
>>
>>38300984
So basically you can't see the glare on the dress, and you can't see the shadows in the folds of the dress, and you've lived your life in rooms with only one light source... avoiding all locations with artificial light.

Just because there is a light source in the background doesn't mean there isn't one behind the camera.
You're just not paying attention.

You should probably stop congratulating yourself over your high "visual IQ". You probably have a relatively darker computer screen than the people who see it as white and gold. I normally see Blue-Black and that's how I responded when someone showed me in 2015. I took it home, maxed out the backlight brightness on my monitor, and leaned in close. Bam, i started seeing white and gold.

It is a matter of context and environment, which is why you can see that people's answers change. In a dark room with a dim screen? White and Gold it is. Out in the golden sun? Clearly it's blue and black.
>>
>>38306466
What colour is the dress, Blue and Black

What colour is this specific pixel with a shine on it from the light source behind the camera?
A manky yellowy orange.
I guess you might call it gold.
but you also can't seem to tell that it's a shine on the fabric from the light, rather than the colour of the fabric.
>>
>>38306666
far left is still black and blue though
>>
>>38306666
No. People in the same room looking at the same screen see the colours differently.
It's purely an internal mental thing, some people fail to understand the lighting situation, and so incorrectly assume the dress is white and gold.
>>
>>38306805

They think:
3 doors, 1/3 chance of being right!
now there're two doors! it's 50 50 now!
I felt good about the door I picked so I still do!

In short they get the logic wrong.
