Had a really good conversation with a customer at work today
>me
>wagecuck @ grocery store
>hate the job but love the people (sometimes there's the occasional jackass but the regulars are cool)
>get ready to check a mom and her son out
>son is autistic, not drooling w/ a helmet autistic, but there's something off
>He's getting some ramen and chips
>"I like shrimp ramen" he says
>We continue talking about ramen and vidya
>Mom finishes paying and yanks son along
>"It's time to go" she says
>"Sorry mom"
I feel like we could have been good friends and I felt a stronger connection with an autist than I have felt with anyone else in a long time.
Am I autistic? Are they my people? Is that where I belong?

I'm asking myself the same questions these days.
Have you been around other autists much at all? Do you find the typical D&D-slash-anime crowd annoying, or can you relate to them and their hobbies?
