The people in restaurants who truly deserve the tips are busboys and the kitchen staff. All waitresses do is stand around looking bitchy while they text Chad, then they write out a ticket and take it to the line, make the busboy/server do everything else, and then carry a plate/tray out to the table when the food is ready.

They somehow expect 20% for writing a ticket and carrying a tray, when the busboy and the kitchen staff do all the heavy lifting.

I tip small amounts typically around 10% or less.

Where I live the min wage for servers is only a few bucks less then general minimum wage.

Plus I live in the city, so there are no truck stop cafes that get little or no business.

It would be so stupid easy for a waitress to get 20-40/hour just in tips.
Dinner for two is typically around 40-60 bucks depending on the place, If I tip $5 (i know its measly) , the waitress only needs to serve ~4 tables/per to bring her wage up to ~20/hour BEFORE the minimum wage even kicks in, and of course its all tax free.


Tipping culture is stupid as fuck, why does the cost of the food dictate how much that person should be tipped ?
