On the topic lads, what kind of scents do you go for? Herbal, dull, strong, sweet, fruity? What the fuck should I be looking for in cologne? Also where do I go to buy them and how much do they go for?

On the scent, honestly just sample different colognes and go with what you think smells the best. You're the one who's going to be wearing it all day, after all.

You can get higher-end colognes at places like Ulta and Sephora, but you can find some decent brands for cheap at places like TJ Maxx or Marshall's. I snagged a bottle of Adidas cologne from TJ Maxx for like nine bucks that I surprisingly got a lot of compliments on.

Actually, I used to use Peace (I am a metal gear solid fan) but I realized I'm more of a cool, lone wolf kinda guy and Apollo just goes with my cool, stand-offish personality.

if you ever buy a bottle of decently expensive cologne make sure they throw in a bunch of free samples. Usually you can get a bunch and use each one multiple times.

There are loads of other factors that will influence how you wear the cologne you try as well. Your skin, your health, your diet, the weather, the season, etc. will all impact how strong/subtle/caustic/muggy your cologne smells. Just smelling a spritz on a piece of paper at the mall will not allow you learn all this information.

If you want to pick colognes more effectively, ask for samples and then just try them out. See what you like over the day or which gets you the most compliments.
