Any future Obsidian fallout games were tied to the initial metacritic scores for New Vegas.

The initial scores were too low (since patches for some bugs that somehow slipped past bathesda's testing) were delayed until after the deadline.

Obsidian made almost nothing on that game; due to the penalties for shipping a "poor quality low rated game".
