Why the fuck can't I concentrate on my goddamn book? Every time I get reading my mind wanders to something unrelated like a song or something else I just finished doing. I'm forced to reread every paragraph 2-3 times to get the gist of it. It's not that I'm a brainlet or anything, I'm just too mentally distracted when I'm reading something that's not immediately satisfying.
What do you guys do when you need to concentrate? How do I "clear my mind" zen style?bonus: don't mention drugs.

It's happens to a lot of us. It's a hurdle. You have to get past that shit and then you start to focus. Think of it like studying, you're training your mind and body to get used to a new habit. It takes time to get used to these things that you once didn't enjoy. Put yourself in a setting for this stuff, too many distractions will leave your mind astray. Remind yourself, be it a paragraph or a page, that you are reading and trying to focus on that subject. Catch yourself in the act and eventually, reading/studying or any hobby for that matter will be come easier.
