I'm boring and I don't have any hobbies

One thing I've come to realize is I don't really have any hobbies. This is one of the first things people say when giving advice to someone who is searching for friends or a partner. It makes sense too, if you engage in hobbies and interests shared by others, you can find like-minded people with similar interests to hang out with.

The problem is I've realize I have NO hobbies. I mean I play videogames, but I don't really consider that a hobby. Everybody plays videogames.

All I do is work and go to school. I'll do things like go to the movies and the mall, yes, but those aren't hobbies either.

I don't have any of these so-called hobbies that everyone swears are so important. I don't play any instrument, I don't volunteer anywhere, I don't play any sports, I don't travel anywhere, I'm as boring of a person as you can imagine.

I used to go to the gym, I guess that was a hobby. I quit and don't plan on going any time soon again.

This is one of my biggest issues relating to social anxiety. When talking to people I always get self conscious about the fact that I'm boring and dont have interesting things to talk about. When people ask me about my weekends I always dread that question because it is ALWAYS the same answer: "nothing special" or "not much" or "nothing" and then I redirect that same question to the person asking to get the attention off of me.

Even when I take drugs to erase my anxiety I'm still a boring person. I may not feel any anxiety when drugged, but I still have little to talk about. I still have limited life experiences, thus am a boring person to talk to.
