Dragonball is fine for what it is nostalgia factor but the writing is hardly anything special or good. The thing that pisses me off most is how little consequences the character's actions have.

I know DBZ and Pokemon were always normie shit but does it annoy anyone how normies plagued Pokemon Go last summer? I wonder if Super is going to do the same or if a Dragonball mobile game will have the same kind of effect.

I doubt it, even though DB was huge it was never as big as Pokemon.

I have been a one piece fan for 10 years(read the manga at least 3 times), grew up during the DBZ craze, wasn't really into it but knowing some of the culture was unavoidable so I knew a lot of the characters by circumstance. I read the entire DB manga a couple weeks ago because oda was influenced by it(I read a lot of kinnikuman too) and it was really underwhelming. Frieza in particular felt like he was gone in the blink of an eye. Maybe it's different if you're a kid who doesn't know what filler is and you really get into the build up bullshit. I'm not saying I didn't like it but OP definitely deserves to take it's mantle away.

Everything in super feels so light hearted. Like even though the arc before us was pretty fucked up, it felt like there was no sense of danger since they kept going back and forth in time.

I miss the perverted tone the original Dragonball had and the comedy is one of the things I quite Super. It's just not as fluid as Toriyama's old style.

Also is it true SJWs really hated something Roshi did or said? I'm surprised but then again we're probably never getting an episode like when Roshi turned himself small to peek up girl's skirts.

Changed regulations on violence in Japan and such really fucked up a big part of what made Dragonball great.
The other part is of course that Toei and Toyotaro only get some outline to work with.
