What makes a normie?

Lost virginity.
Friends.
Career.
>>
caring about real life
>>
>>38236240
Had sex before 17 or virgin by choice
>>
>>38236240
Ceasing the endless navel gazing and just living life within the acceptable public view of society. There are 45 year old gay sadomasochists who jerk it to animal porn who are more normie than some people on this board because they don't over-analyze every single action that they commit and they know how to act in public.
>>
>>38236240
Deeming societal standards to be more important than being yourself and doing what you want/makes you happy.

Believing firmly in boundaries and 'good taste.'
>>
Lack of autism honestly

>>38237226
This definitely.

>>38236341
If this was true then most people wouldn't be normies.

Feeling "okay" by default and blending into society. Whatever that looks like.

Normal people may have issues like anxiety or depression, but beneath all that they still feel like a person that fits. They just fit. They're a person like the rest of society and they have extraneous attributes built on top of that.

Robots aren't people. Hence the term. They're divorced from people in profound ways that are seemingly impossible to change. People that can't maintain friendships if even acquire them, people that get targeted as the designated punching bag by others, people with confidence issues that makes it impossible to blend in, people that have never had a relationship and seemingly never will.

That's what it means to be normal. As far as the term "normie", though, that's more of a disparaging term for normal people that represent all the least endearing parts that being normal has to offer.

- They have such a simplistic understanding and appreciation of what it means to struggle in life that it becomes offensive (just b urself)
- They blindly follow what everyone else is doing, whether it's a dumb trend or something stupid and destructive
-They do things for their own selfish reasons simply because they can
-On the whole they just coast through life never stopping to appreciate the world, where it's going and what they should be doing.

The way I always perceived it is it has to be a combination of things usually. Although for some things (like losing your virginity) it automatically makes you a normie. Usually, a combination of the following things make you a normie. At the very least for some of these things you instantly will qualify as a normie.

>having a job
>friends (will likely make you a normie)
>have/had a gf (hard to argue against being a normie)
>have had many other gf's (instantly a normie)
>have a wife (instant normie status)
>being socially competent (should I really have to explain this one?)
>having been to parties
>being an alcoholic
>being into drugs
>liking normal basic ass shit any normie would like (your favorite game is call of duty, you watch big bang theory, you only listen to the most popular music, etc)

Basically things like having had sex or many girlfriends means you are automatically a normal period. No fucking exceptions!

Having a job is a more neutral thing. So on one hand you do have to be competent enough to even get a job but on the other I don't see how that alone can make someone normal since working is essentially a necessity in this world. Plus plenty of handicap (including mentally handicap) people have jobs. So that alone cannot make someone a normie.

Now lets say if you are a guy like Eggman or Alexander Layko then you might very well be considered a failed normie. These types are basically as insufferable as normies themselves and perhaps even worst since they aren't quite normal enough to be full normie. However they will usually have the personality of a normal or have had normal person success in their lives.

It isn't really hard to figure out who is a normie and who isn't if you lurk long enough. If you were also here pre elliot rogers and pre fappening you would also have gotten a much better grasp at what this board used to be like before all the normals flooded and ruined it.

Important thing to remember about normals

>Important thing to remember about normals

So an important thing to remember or know about normals is they absolutely do not want to look inferior to other people. So they do their best to live their lives by being like everyone else. The difference being that they succeed at this very well while a true robot completely fails. The ones who are competent enough but still fail are what we call failed normies. And yes a failed normie absolutely can have had a gf before in his life.

This is why it is so easy for many on /r9k/ to describe to you who is a normie while if you asked normal people they wouldn't even be able to describe to you why they are the way they are because they simply are. Hope that makes sense. A normal doesn't want to be seen as autistic. While an autist robot in most cases would rather be seen as normal. This is also why a normie will often (or rather almost all the time) brag about things like having had girlfriends or have had sex. This is probably the biggest thing a normie loves bragging or talking about.

So anyways I think that should have explained this well enough. I mean maybe I missed something but this is pretty much the gist of it.

>>38237761
I fail to see how I am incorrect on some of those things. Also just to make things clear here, I did say that this is what my perception was. Not that I was absolutely correct in the way I see it. Some of those things are an absolute period and you know it. Any guy that has had numerous sex partners in this world is fucking normal. I mean I guess there can be some weird way that a guy isn't normal even if he has had lots of partners but that would be reaching hard considering to have lots of partners you'd have to be king of normals.

making a thread like this
>>
>>38236274
>at least 2 close friends
>average social skills
>at least one past relationship
>had sex with at least one person
>not severely depressed
>have a social life
>>
>>38237957
I think it's kind of tunnelvisioned and people object to it because they occupy some of those traits and they don't feel normal. It might be assuming of being normal

I think Ride falls under 90% of those categories. Drinks, does does drugs, fucks a lot. Still one of the most utterly enigmatic people in music. His whole montra is basically looking like a nobody you wouldn't look twice at but working with that to embody something more interesting
>>
>>38236274
This. Also doesn't live with parents after 25 and can easily blend in.

>>38236341
Has had sex ever.
>>
>>38238118
I think you are forgetting something. It doesn't matter if a normie doesn't feel normal. They would still count as a normie.

And I'll just say it again. It doesn't really matter if some degenerate has fucked lots of women, does drugs and is probably seen as a bit "weird" to other normals. The fact remains that such a person is still normal enough to even be able to socialize with so many women. To even have a social circle and so on.

Normie's don't have to ever feel normal to be considered a normie. What matters more is accomplishments and what that other anon said desu.
>>
>>38236240
In its true/original sense, it's literally person who fits most normal criteria. IE has a real job, lost virginity (and probably in a relationship), has friends, actually leaves his/her house and goes to social events, and things of that ilk.

On here, it's devolved into being a buzzword/slur that means "I don't like/agree with you."

>How can you like cats, you damn normie!
>>
>>38238253
If they aren't happy then they aren't happy. Sex and interaction with people isn't the skeleton key for everyone

I know it can seem like the profound delimiter when you live the robot lifestyle
>>
>>38238312
Sex and interaction with people has pretty much been THE defining factor of a normal if you've actually been here longer than 2 years. I'm not saying it completely defines these type of people but it does play a very large part.

You don't just get a social circle of friends and a gf by acting like a robot. What you seem to be caught up on here is the fact that even among people that have accomplished these things there is plenty of diversity or differences between many of these people.

All what I"m saying is that that "point" that I am assuming you are trying to make is irrelevant. We all already know that there are different types of people out there with different life experiences. The key thing here is that certain experiences makes people have similarities to others while not experiencing these things will make a person feel out of place among these same people.
>>
>>38238474
>Sex and interaction with people has pretty much been THE defining factor of a normal
Yep, pretty much. It's kind of the metaphysical representation of how you're desired among other human beings, it's not ubiquitous though.

>The key thing here is that certain experiences makes people have similarities to others while not experiencing these things will make a person feel out of place among these same people.
If "feeling out of place" were the delimiter then that would make sense.

It's deeper than that. Two normals can have virtually no similarities and be on completely separate wavelengths but they still recognize that they're normal and they comfortably fall into hanging out with eachother.
