And even then, I'd get suspicious that it was a prank.

It was in high school. I used to play an MMO and there was a girl I met there. We became friends because I was one of the few guys that didn't try and flirt with her or anything so she felt comfortable with me. We played a lot together and got to know each other. We found out we both lived in the same state, albeit in different cities.

We played a lot together then one day in the game, she asked me to marry her. Of course I didn't really take it seriously because it was a game and you got bonuses for getting married. She confessed her feelings for me though after.

I wasn't very interested in her honestly. I hate those guys that slobber over every girl in online games so I didn't want to be that guy but besides that, while we were good online friends I didn't feel much of a connection for her. So I rejected her.

She wanted to meet up with me in real life though so we could get to know each other for real. Just to confirm she wasn't a serial killer, we talked over webcam. She was an average looking girl with glasses, she wasn't unattractive. She thought I was cute though. She was 13 at the time, I was 16 so the dynamic was a little weird.

We arranged a meeting in real life and we met up in a park. It was extremely awkward, like painfully stomach curlingly awkward. We were both much more shy in real life than the game, it was a painful reality. We just sat there quiet the whole time making awkward comments to each other occasionally.

She wanted to go to my house though and I took her home. We hung out in my room for awhile, we loosened up a little. Eventually we ended up holding hands.

It got late so she had to go. It was awkward but it was getting pretty nice with her. I escorted her to the train station and she gave me a kiss on the cheek. Still the only kiss I've ever received from a girl. She left and that was that.

Never heard from her again. I'm not sure what happened to her but I was a little sad.
