I tend to have that sort of thing as well, but more than that my priorities are like an iron fist of jew fury that prevents me from getting too bothered by minor things. I don't make that much money so if I want to have/do stuff I want, it means keeping the budget and energy/effort quite focused.

They're just MDR-V6s, like $80 if you get them online IIRC. They're pretty good for the price, especially because they're ultra-durable. (They're favorites of professional news cameramen and things like that because they're so tough and reliable.)

The real expensive thing in the pic is actually the mic, it's an AKG that was like $2k or something. It's on long-term loan from a family member who has a recording studio full of even higher-end mics and never uses them.

Ah, yeah, the 7506 and V6 are physically identical so it's an easy mistake to make. (The only difference is speaker tuning and markings.) I thought about the 7506, actually, but the V6s are more accurate to the average listener's setup and they were also easier to get when I needed a new set of cans. I have a set of aftermarket pads on mine as well, and they make a surprisingly big improvement.

To tell the truth though, I end up using the Sennheiser gaming headset in that pic much more often than the Sony+AKG setup. It's just so much more convenient and I don't have a mic boom blocking my screen when gaming.
