The only console right now that looks interesting is the switch even then I have no incentive to buy it until a major price decrease happens. The last time a console has been worthwhile was during last gen with the 360, PS3, and Wii.

I've been an xbot for a long time, but Xbone is pretty boring. I got one because I'm a Halo fan and figured I'd enjoy the Xbone because it had more Halo, I think I would have preferred a PS4. Halo has fell off. MCC was very underwhelming. Halo 5 is okay but was barebones on release and I hate the art style and maps, but the campaign is ass (just like Halo 4). No real exclusives. I'm not talking about Windows compatibility, I just mean that the games Microsoft owns just aren't that good. But I only use Xbone as my Halo machine so idc. I'm praying Halo 6 will be good, at least.

I didn't destroy it. I had to take the faceplate off in order to open the disk drive. I could put it back on but I'd have to remove it everytime I want to play a different game.

I had a similar problem with my disc drive. You can get the shit fixed at a video game repair shop. That's what I did.

You can emulate almost every worthwhile nintendo game with few passable exceptions

Ps2 had a lot of games wich are hard to emulate today

If i would grab some machines:
rasberry pi to emulate older systems with few extra joypads , lightguns maybe
ps2fat with hd mod or ps3 older model with ps2 chip
first xbox
maybe 360 for more shmups and exclusives
ps4 if you are normie and like modern games
psp vita (backwards compatible with psp if you dont wanna emulate it on pc)
3ds (i think it can read gba games but you can just emulate)
budget pc with w7 to play some games and emulate stronger consoles (GC,wii,ps2)
Some arcade cabinets if i had too much money
This is enough to play the games for the rest of your life. I would take that safely to a fallout shelter.
