Go to your local swimming pool and tell some instructor to teach you. Usually you can do that at gyms that have swimming pool.

I've been swimming since I was a little kid. It's the best, OP. Once you learn how it's really fun and it's not that hard to learn, especially if you dog paddle. Besides, everyone should learn how to swim just in case. Drowning would be so embarrassing.

I took lessons at a community college when I was like 10.

However I was able to float/doggy paddle type swim before that.

I thought knowing how to do the basics was something you were born with
