I got a few hours into the first one like 2 years ago, fought that bird boss and will probably return to the series at some point to finish all of them. I own all of the main games, I think. I just don't have the drive to actually play them. Combat seems fine to me, music is decent, writing can be charming at times. I don't really get the hate.
