You can look that up, if you want; it's possible to forecast a country's stability based on how many under-30, unmarried men it has. Now, obviously, other persons-like-myself have realized this. As a consequence, /b/, /pol/, and so on are so thoroughly parasitized by competing agendas as to be unusable. There's no way to scope the field, so to speak, and I have no wish to go toe-to-toe with the CIA or whoever the fuck else. This means I need a new recruiting area. Enter /r9k/.

The people who say that /r9k/ wasn't always about loneliness and depression, well, they're totally right. I engineered this. One long, arduous campaign against ronely threads and feelsposting later, and I had a freshly-minted affinity group of outcasts with nowhere else to go... but here. Kind of proud of that one, honestly. You have no idea how many email accounts I had to make. At one point, I was coordinating a report brigade of like sixty people.
Why /r9k/? Why do you think? It's a no-purpose board. What else would I use? /v/? I'd like to say something clever, like "I chose /r9k/ because the only infinitely varied thing is human sadness", but I didn't see it that way at the time. Anyway, I move my roaches into their pens. They bitch, but the great thing about sadfags is, they won't fight. All the fight's gone out of them, you see.

Now /r9k/ is "a gangbang of whining". Moot, bless his little mischling heart, tries to stop this with various memes and stylesheet modifications. No sale. The fog is here to stay. So, a second campaign, dating to about... Oh, I'd say 2010? This one against "off-topic", whatever that is, on boards that are guaranteed to be full of AYUMs. And a third, and a fourth. One year later, through a number of emails to moot, fake threads, chatsitting, and so forth, I was able to force the creation of everybody's favorite shitboard, /soc/.
Now, it's perfectly possible to build a meetups board that people will actually want to use. /con/, for example, was well-liked. I didn't want that. So, I made /soc/'s name into toilet paper with scheduled shitposts, got them to add IDs, got the "only post yourself" rule added, and generally made it into an uncomfortable, nasty mess that only desperate fags and retards would want to use, therefore ensuring that my AYUMs stay lonely and ready-to-die. However, if your actions serve only one purpose, you're doing it wrong. In addition to forcing people to stay single and anonymous on /r9k/, the "only post yourself" rule, combined with IDs and my own homebrew stylometric scraper/analysis software, has allowed me to de-anonymize (with pictures!!) a sizable chunk of 4chan's userbase, which in turn allows me to analyze their affinity networks, lending me additional blocs to manipulate. During this time, my big fear was that people would either go to /b/, which I have no fingers in, or simply say "fuck it", and leave.

NB: it's really easy to get the staff to do what you want. As a special case of analyzing inputs vs. outputs: all you gotta do is learn how they talk, learn what has status for them, and then damn whatever you want in exactly the language they'd use to do it. They'll eat it up, but more importantly, they'll earnestly and with 100% certainty believe that the idea was their own.

At this point, it's 2014. Averaging about one campaign a year, I've been channeling angry, terminally frustrated nerds into /r9k/ for four years. I did not predict Gamergate. I don't game, and the San Fran clique bullshit never pinged my radar. I'm not omniscient, and GG was kind of a mess for me, in that people started going to "8ch" instead of coming here and adding to the heap. That cut into my numbers a bit, as did the mods' "let's make new boards and ease up on the rules to defray site-churn" shit. Oh well. I still have a pretty good reserve here, and they've been seeding themselves with "Beta Uprising"/St. Elliot shit, which means they'll be more willing to do what needs done, when it needs doing. I had nothing to do with any of that, by the way. That's the beauty of a good plan: if you direct people right, they'll do your own work for you.

Come 2017, people who've passed through my sphere of influence are now thought-leaders on Twitter. I don't have much control over them, so they go heterogeneous and post a bunch of eclectic political bullshit. Whatever. I'll tug those strings when I need them.
One problem: the old programming is failing, and people, here, are making friends in a way such that I can't keep tabs on it. The incel rage is fading. My roaches are gonna have eggs, which means they'll drop out and raise their larvae or whatever it is that fags do. So, I use a few of my old nicks, drop a few emails, point out to the mods that my rules are being disregarded in defiance of their ultimate authority, and pow, you get a new sticky.
