Are some people just meant to be alone?

I have to ask because no matter what I try, nothing seems to work. And the more I try, and the more I get rejected, the worse I feel, and the more isolated I become. I just don't know what to do at this point.

I asked a girl I like at work to go to the movies tomorrow. she was planning on going to see Wonder Woman alone, and we get along great, and I had already established that I wanted to see it as well. it was literally the perfect opportunity. well at first she kind of laughs it off, and I tell her I'm serious. Then, of course, she tells me that she's taking her son to see fireworks tomorrow. well that's fine, I tell her, we can just see an early viewing, get back in time for her to go see fireworks. then of course she makes up some excuse that she was gonna be busy all day probably despite already establishing that she was planning on going to see the movie alone anyway. well fuck it I said, just dropped it because I was busy at the time, and that was the end of it.

I just don't know what to do at this point. she's single and it really seems like we get along good. so that leads to the question: are some people just meant to be alone? Why can't I find a lasting relationship? Am I just meant to fuck random whores who'd fuck anything with a dick and a few bucks for booze or drugs?
