I used to just do whatever and made money and lived life similar to a hedonist, only caring about how much pleasure I'd get in the end. I'd make that money and spend it on dumb shit like drugs, motorcycles, or video games. And the excitement of making more cash and being able to do more drugs, ride more expensive motorbickes, and play more vidya fueled my "motivation" for life

Now I'm older and I'm a normie, so I live life in order to support my kid. Once she's old enough to leave then my life is complete

Well, that's the issue, no? I have no obtainable goals in life and thus no future prospects. I can find fullfillment in my life by eating well and healthy as well as reading books and papers and chatting here.
Take those books and papers away and I have nothing to live for. I need it. Can't go without it.

It's only a cop-out to you because they're both life affirming in their essence. Consciousness within an existence bound by death and futility and meaninglessness will always light the fire of man needing to know his subjective meaning, if not an objective meaning for humanity. I thought Nietzsche saw personal suffering and self-hatred/self-loathing as the essential tools to be as constantly self-overcoming as possible. Channeling your suffering into something greater than you currently are., aka the ubermensch. Been a while since I read him though.

to answer this and the OP, I use philosophical pessimism to keep going (so I guess I am a sort of aburdist, but I still hate that shit). With this and art as a distraction, I can be taken from my problems and have begun to define life by my own standards. This by no means allows me the luxury of escaping the strong will of others, but rather it acts as a soothing balm to their shit

I find some peace in narrowing my scope and being truthful with others. I imagine the /pol/-tards to be the exact opposite of this. Of course there are nasty truths about the world that they weren't told, but now they're switching ideologies like clothing. One day they hate jews, the next they support an Israeli-sympathizing businessman running for the pro-Israel party

must be hard to eat dinner with people standing on such thin convictions, but they probly don't even discuss these things outside of the internet. So the glorious reich is a bunch of tongue tied cowards

I also define lack of meaning as a luxury. Pretty simplistic, but it's hard to hide truth where it is. I don't really concern myself with the subjective. To me, humans are feeling beings, so only those arguments that apply to feeling beings matter

it's like if I bought a car and received with it a manual to operate a washing machine. The manual maybe be entirely correct and helpful, but it gets me nowhere with my car. Metaphysical arguments may hold weight and contain truths, but they do little to help me operate as a person. To operate, I must stick to the biology and its weaknesses
