Well to be honest, my favourite anime are Serial Experiments Lain and Evangelion.

I just think that Spirited Away has really amazing presentation, atmosphere, and art.

Both of these series are pretty entry level, Evangelion is good but it ripped off two very good series for the entirety of its plot so that explains why.

I never got the hype behind Spirited Away, it's not nearly as good as Nausicaa or Princess Mononoke as far as Ghibli shit goes.

But you're right it was pretty much the best, but there's other kinds of anime out there that are the best of their kind.

Like the peaceful, cryptic, cute, sad, not too long no too short, mangaless anime, Haibane Renmei. That anime I've not seen an equal to for what it is.

But ENG of course is the best Mecha anime. DBZ is the best action. The best disney anime is tha spirited away most think. The best surreal anime for depressed people I've seen is Serial Experiments Lain, and Ergo Proxy. Both were boring, and I ended up skimming SEL.

There's no equal to the shoutout to losers that was Welcolme to the NHK.

Lots of top tiers of different types of animus. But I've not seen them all, so whatever.

Funniest laugh at the misery of the nip man was Golden Boy. Just randomly throwing that out there.

Best slice of life comedy was Azumanga Diaoh. Unless you like ridiculous shit.
