With a serious enough setup (big ass antenna) there is still tons of stuff to hear. Even then, a small radio with a small antenna can still pick up some cool broadcasts.

On shortwave you get broadcasts from all over the world. It's not like the radio in your car with stations that play 24/7.

You probably won't come across creepy shit like that, but there is a huge variety of shit you can hear. That's what makes it so comfy.
