Sure, but the first part isn't even correct, because you're saying that most people feel like others for their own benefit. You make it seem like it's a conscious condition that most can control, when in reality it is not. The benefit of empathy is the togetherness provided by the relationship of the empathizer and the receiver. It's not about what you get out of it, it's about relating to another, so you don't have to rely on yourself all the time.
