there were always shitty threads back then but there wasn't some kind of consistent flood of nearly-identical "wouldn't it be great to overcome your beta nature and become the little girl" shit.

garbage threads from the days of yore were more often the sorts of things people now take for granted (or even prefer, when the alternative is 50 "everyone ITT post your shaved disgusting buttholes" threads), i.e. pointless feels posting or "reeeee females get out" except people didn't say "reee" back then. it's kind of a testament to this board's decline that those threads are now treated with something other than disdain

but i think that the "environment" here (as such) has been warped profoundly by stuff that goes beyond the kind of threads people make:

what this means for this place is that a lot of the people who come here aren't familiar with the culture and don't want to be, which encourages the tribal oldfag/newfag shit that manifests itself here specifically as "normies get out"
