I accept that there are less expectations of women with regards to career, providing for the family and achieving a profession as much as males. To the woman who wants to push the boundaries and be very successful, I can see why this is frustrating and stereotypical.

However, I also do not see why lower expectations has to be a negative thing. Having less to aspire to be means less societal expectations, and thus less susceptibility to depression when one does not exceed such expectations. If a man cannot provide for his family through a professional career due to depression or otherwise he is seen as a failure. A woman can get away with this because there is less expectation to succeed professionally, and as a result may find it easier to recover.

You only have to take a look at the suicide rates of men to see this, they're higher than they've ever been. And this is no doubt down to high expectations of society, coupled with the fact that talking about problems is seen as a sign of weakness. So yeah, the point I'm making is life is tough, regardless of the gender. Women ave problems which are unique to themselves and not shared by men. And likewise, men have problems which are not shared by women.

I work with female scientists who are fucking geniuses - their expertise is recognized and appreciated. And their salaries reflect this
