It is for me. I'm no guitar expert but it's one of the first things I look for in a guitar cause it's hella fun.
Fine tuning is nice as well though not necessary. I don't care much about brands or shit, just go to the music store and test the guitars in your price range that meet your requirements.

Honestly tho get one with a tremolo bar. It's such a waste not to have it.

Tremolo is nice if you just want to play on one tuning but if you want to change tunings then tremolo might make you suicidal.
