How do I know if I'm intuitive or a sensor? People say Sensors care more about physical experiences, but I don't know if this necessarily true. I don't get how anyone could talk about changing oil. How does Fi in an INTJ differ from Fi in an INFP? They are totally different in my view but they both share Fi, so they should have something in common.
I read that Fi in INTJs gives them their "drive" and idealism to climb up the ladder of success and Fi in INFP makes them able to categorize their environment in flavors or colors, like synesthesia.
But it is strange to me that they use Fi in such a different way, even though it is the same

ISTP VS INTP

It's simple. One is action oriented, the other one is not. Both types can be very intellectual, but ISTP desires "practical" knowledge. This means they want that knowledge to enhance their life (this can include philosophy), they can use it, master it, or observe what they learn. INTP desires knowing for its own sake. They want to know and probably won't act on it, and they don't really desire to master anything - just understand it. I think INTPs are also much more of a "logic autist" than ISTPs, so ISTPs are less likely to debate

ISTPs also need some physical activity in their life or they will feel wrong. Going to they gym, martial arts, etc. INTPs don't need physical activity except maybe of running to think some more. Both types get mixed up a lot

After doing the test a couple more times, and some other tests on the website, their regular Jung test gives me INTP repeatedly but the cognative test gives me ISFP. You're probably using your functions in a way that appears to mimic Fi because of the way the test is worded. It's possible your internal system of values is in opposition to the mainstream, which is easy to believe considering we're on /r9k/, so by that logic you're going to subscribe to your own consistent values while rejecting adherence to conventional morality and ethics. "Real" Fi doesn't base its ethics and morality on what makes logical sense, but on what 'feels right' with no real logic behind it (a trait likely to actually annoy INTPs) and there's also a preoccupation with thinking about what feels authentic to you, what fits your image. An INTP with a self devised internally consistent system of values would be preoccupied not with preserving a sense of authenticity, 'adherence to the sanctity of your own feelings' and judging whether something feels good or bad, but rather with making sure their system of morality/ethics/values has no contradictions and is logically bulletproof (logically true/false vs feeling good/bad) as a sort of defensive mechanism to reassure yourself that your values make sense even though they differ from normies, which sounds like a very Ti thing. What the test makes you believe to be Fi is actually just Ti substituting for it, which is perfectly consistent with the custom tailored hell of being INTP, as they're dismissive of the emotional side and Fi and Ti are both introverted judging functions. Thanks for the insightful comments. I was raised in a very conservative, strict and somewhat abusive environment and I always had the sense that the beliefs of my family and peers were the opposite of what made sense to me. I was always triple checking myself because it was hard to accept that they were wrong and I was right, and I thought surely something had to be wrong with me.

I find it difficult to motivate myself and try new things because I fear failure and rejection and it's really interfering with my life, so those observations are spot on. From what I gathered my best opportunity for personal growth is to focus on developing my Ne.
