That's the fundamental problem with public discords.
When you post a public invite link here, you're not getting all the, idk, cuteposters, or just lonely nice guys. The people who join are the ones who post about roasties every fucking thread and can't go a single post without uploading their rarest frog.
The ONLY way to get a good discord is to either aggressively ban people for not being up to par, or only inviting good people to begin with.

The best option would be to meet people off of r9k, talk to them for at least a few days, and if they don't make you want to paint your intestines with bleach, send them an invite.

Discord is not that bad, is just that a lot of anons who come to this board have the need to make another thread about it because everything has to be about them so they create another server for themselves where everyones have to give them atenttion and then they quickly give up on it.
A server could work if it was not so full of egocentrical people and everyone on it made an effort to make it fun or try to get to know the other anons on it. Another important point is that is chat for people who play games, but peolple dont play anything other than overwatch.

Thanks my fellow robot brethren, but there's an element you mentioned that I definitely should have included in my explanation - the dominance hierarchy. Whoever owns the Discord controls who gets banned. Whenever a normie is put in a position of power like this, there's a strong possibility of that power being abused and manipulated for sadistic aims.

And the funny thing is, robots love /r9k/ because it's one of the very few forums on the internet WITHOUT a dominance hierarchy. There are tripfags, sure, but they get called out immediately on their selfish, attention-whoring ways. And there are mods, but they're overwhelmingly absent (at least in terms of making themselves known by actively posting) and quiet, working in the background to censor rulebreaking posts.

In essence, Discord will always appeal to normies moreso than robots.
