Best advice given on r9k I've ever seen
There is no track
I've lost myself too and desperately trying to comeback. But it seems that the light in my life faded away and I wont see it shine anymore during my lifespan. S A D B O Y S

How did it get off track?
Also stay off 4chan

>How did it get off track?
mostly just wasting time on 4chan, anything would have been better.

One thing I've slowly learned is that if I'm feeling at a loss of purpose or direction I kinda have to self assess. What are some good habits I could instill? What are some bad habits I could work on getting rid of? What am I afraid of ?(things like public speaking not rape or whatever) Then that becomes my temporary direction and purpose. Good habits suck because there's no instant gratification but at times the long investment can pay off.

Yeah I set goals and stuff, but the problem is I'll end up waking up late, wasting half the day on 4chan, and feeling like too much of a failure to correct my behavior until tomm.

Yup. I've been chipping away at almost that EXACT pattern of behavior for over 4 years now. I feel you. It took me until this year to really start breaking that. It's a damn war.

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm gonna watch a self help vid and make some art. Lets continiue the fight!

No problem anon! I'd like to suggest two more things that really helped me. Hopefully they can help you too.
1) A chrome app called StayFocusd. It has an option called going nuclear. It blocks websites (either a list you create or all websites) for a minimum of one hour.
2) Setting an early alarm. The first 18 months or so I would just go turn it off/hit the snooze and go right back to sleep. But after awhile I slowly started getting the discipline to rise at that hour. At first it was one day out of the month. Then one day out of the week. Etc etc.

Whats to stop me from phone posting or opening opera? I think I'm gonna need discipline to overcome this.

I uninstalled opera and added every download page I could to StayFocusd's block list. It's autistic but it worked like 50% of the time. Plus on opera maybe you could find a similar extension?

I think this is StayFocusd's mobile alternative.
But yes in the end it will boil down to developing self discipline. Keyword, developing.
