I don't know what I should study, only 5 days left to pick. To late to go into medicine.

Do I have to study engineering if I want to make good money without being a charming normie with good social skills?

also if I'm going the engi route which specialist field would I go into?

Biomedical engineering
Civil, structural and environmental engineering
Computer engineering
Electronic engineering
Electronic and computer engineering (joint programme)
Mechanical and manufacturing engineering

To be honest I have 0 interest in engineering. It looks like it's impossible to make this kinda money in a field I'd be interested in like medicinal chemistry. I'm not going to have a girlfriend or a social life I'm happy with in my thirties, I'd at least like to one-up them in not being poorfag. Law might be an option but only like 10% of barristers are employed in my country so I'd need to be top 10% networking to make that work.

You're gonna give up if you don't have any interest. Find something you enjoy
>>
>>37973419
the only things I enjoy are history, literature, languages and chemistry. I'll never get rich on any of those and I'm too old to study something at university because I think it's fun, there needs to be good entry routeto getting rich at the end.
>>
>>37973445
why not do chemical engineering then
>>
>>37973419
This.

1) Find something you can actually sink thousands of hours of time into without wanting to kill yourself.
2) Become ridiculously good at it
3) Become good at other things, like social skills and management (money/resources/people).
4) Turn that knowledge into money
>>
Whatever you choose, DO NOT TRY LAW. Im an eu fag and I had chosen math profile back in highschool, then I figured "it's not for me" and went to lawschool. Easly the worst decision of my life. I've been studying 4-6 hours a day since may and I still failed 3 of 7 subjects.
>>
>>37973445
>history, literature, languages and chemistry
do something chemistry related and learn the others in your free time or get a secondary degree in another language you enjoy
dont do history or literature degrees those are obviously not going to make you any money
>>
i make 100k. it's mostly luck that's gotten me to this point. i don't have a degree.

anyways i don't understand your obsession with 100k. it's not that great and the tax rate is so high you're better off making less sometimes. you can also save a great deal of money if you're not a stupid goyim
>>
>>37973393
If you want fair ammount of money, while almost not doing any work, try DTP, especially if you can do it in many languages you may earn up to 8k euro while working less then 14h a week ( on average )
>>
>>37973393
I make more than 100k but it's mostly luck and connections. If you have an interest in chemistry do chemical engineering though.
>>
>>37973478
>3) Become good at other things, like social skills and management
where do you think you are?

>>37973497
yeah I thought so

>>37973579
>>37973462
had to look it up, they do chemical engineering in one university in my city but it'd be a 45 minute commute every morning. It is an option though.
>>
If you consider yourself at least somewhat driven/ambitious, don't go to a university. Self-study something you actually care about and try to get employed. Getting a degree is a huge waste of time, energy and money, but it can get you employed if you're otherwise hopeless.
>>
>>37973393

if you DO have an interest in chemistry, go with Chemical or Petroleum engineering (a shit ton of money to be found there).

if you go with medicinal chemistry (or any research sciences), then i'm sorry, you wont make any money and will spend your prime years in your mothers basement.
>>
chem engineering makes money yeah but it's pretty competitive. best field of the stuff you lited though
>>
>>37973393

I make 30k as a research assistant...

Luckily my gf makes about 40k as an insurance salesmen and she has benefits that cover both of us. If I was single I'd be renting forever, or until I got a new job.

I have Msc in Environmental science (trophic ecology). Universities don't pay well unless you're a prof.
>>
any opinions on "Nanoscience, physics and chemistry of advanced materials"

>Chemical or Petroleum engineering (a shit ton of money to be found there)
I wouldn't bet on petrol being the king of energy in 25 years, it feels like things are changing pretty quickly.

any opions on nanoscience or biochemistry? The nanoscience has the highest entry requirements of any course but I think I can get it.

alternatively i could get a bachelor's in "Biomedical, Health & Life Sciences" or similar then do a specialised 3 year course to become a doctor.

>>37974071
isn't it pretty easy becoming a professor? I always thought it was achievable for even literal autistics.
>>
>>37974097

go for the biomedical, health and life sciences if you are guaranteed entry into med school, otherwise the sciences don't pay well, at least here in Australia.
>>
>>37974097
>"Biomedical, Health & Life Sciences" or similar then do a specialised 3 year course to become a doctor.
Don't do this. It pays well, but it's terrible.
>>
>>37974097

Well you have to have a phd in Canada to teach at a university. And you probably have to work as a post doc for a bit and get a ton of papers published/be on the cutting edge of something.

so
>undergrad 4 years
>Masters 2 years
>Phd 4ish years
>post doc for maybe another 3-5 years
Also depends on the openings at unis near you
>>
>>37973524
>the tax rate is so high you're better off making less sometimes

t. someone who doesn't know how taxes work.
>>
Why would you even want that much?
>>
>>37974229
>better holidays
>buy more shit
>retire early
>more appealing to women
>feel accomplished
>good for mental health
>not considered a disappointment or failure
>>
>>37974229

stupid question
>>
>>37973393
How charismatic and sociable are you? The top one percent aren't doctors or engineers. These days, they don't even count as rich anymore. They're CEOs.

And the job of a CEO is literally just to know people who know people. You're hired for your network. Which means you should be aiming to get into an ivy league with a strong alumni network, and choose whatever major lets you party and make friends the most.
>>
>>37973393
>didn't see the no good social skills.
In that case, study philosophy and become a hedgefund manager. You'll be able to retire at 30 with a luxury lifestyle.
>>
>>37974259
>>37974293
>on /r9k/
>expect people to have social skills
>>
Add Statistics to that, and go to actuary
>>
>>37973393
learn to code. learn to code. learn to code. learn to code. I literally cant say this enough. LEARN TO CODE. Computer Science or Computer Engineering. You will make bank and always have a good job. Engineering WILL require social skills. Engineers are salesmen. Learn to code.
