I speak the non-shitskin variant of Spanish and a decent enough English to post here and have face to face conversations to some extent. Also an irrelevant regional language.

I have tried to get into German and French but I eventually get disinterested and disillusioned because there's not much point in learning languages if you're a poor NEET that hasn't traveled in his entire life and is generally asocial and awkward to be around with. Learning languages is primarily a social thing. A person that isn't social will have a harder time learning them. I also got demotivated whenever I'd read those horrible news about France and Germany and think to myself there isn't much point in learning a language from cultures that will go extinct during my lifetime. Let's be honest, unless you got to go to Germany or France to work there or have some equally compelling reason to learn their language there isn't really a reason to do so.

If I had my shit together I'd probably enjoy a lot learning languages because I could actually use them for interesting things. As long as I don't I just feel I'm learning it to beat around the bush, to pretend I'm doing something useful when I'm not.

The Law of Use: Acquire knowledge for use, not for the sake of it. Learning things just because is a foolish thing.
