Have you guys gotten any better at riddles yet? This one isn't even hard. Well, it's kind of tricky, it's hard for me to gauge because I can't use how easy it was for me because I am way above your level. The trick with this one is that you aren't really presented with a question, forcing you to deduce the question and from there work out the answer.

now that I think about it, you probably won't solve this one, because it's also more of an emotional logic riddle, which will make it doubly tricky for this board. I guess I should rate it as an 8/10 difficulty, or 2/10 for me since I have a very innate understanding of both logic and human emotions.

Alright, I have another one ready. Search engine assistance won't help this time.

There is a wall of enemy patrol boats blockading your path. They are spaced out as such, with anything in their corresponding circle being in their line of sight. Pretend it goes on forever, so sailing around won't work. If a boat sees you in it's line of sight, it will immediately demand an authorization code that only their military possesses. If you do not provide it, they shoot you down. Fighting back will be unsuccessful given you are outnumbered.

How do you skirt the blockade?

No mister, you are supposed to imagine the possibilities and then determine if they are logical. Teleportation would be one way, but is it also a feasible solution?

That was just a simplification, but have it as you like it. It is a blockade between two impassable mountain ranges, at least by boat.

This isn't a wordplay riddle, I am not fond of those types, it's logic, so it isn't resting on a single word to trick you.

I'm trying to make you guys better thinkers. Too many people today are incapable of seeing past their biases or snap judgements, and get cemented in one course of thinking.

For example, if a white cop shoots a black guy. The immediate conclusion is racism and no one will even take a look at the evidence. I hate cops but even I don't treat the innocent as guilty without a look at the facts. Hell, I don't think I treat anyone as guilty cause I don't give a fuck, I'm friends with criminals.

Enh yeah, close enough. Well. Whatever. It's the right idea, but the method of communication is morse code by light. When you are in the overlap zone, you can see both ships but they cannot see eachother. So the sequence of events would be:

Let's say the question is:

Who is Best Girl?

and the answer is Asuka, obvs, but the point is you wouldn't know either the question or the answer as an enemy combatant.

>Enemy ship on port side sends you the challenge Question.
>You take question and reflash it to the ship on your starboard side.
>since they are an actual military vessel of the opposing nation, they have the correct answer.
>you take down the answer and reflash it to the ship on your port side and sail through with each ship assuming you are the friendly ship that is actually just out of their line of sight

It is basically a less technological version of muting eachother, but it wouldn't work on a radio right, because it depends on line of sight for this ruse to work. I'm not overly pedantic, since I avoided specifying the communication method in the riddle to avoid giving it away.

At any rate, a truly smart person would have deduced that. Overall, this board seems to be improving slightly, I hope. Still a long way to go though.

They dont know the other boats are there. They will each only suddenly see a single boat and ask for confirmation. If you let them talk to eachother they will both assume the other boat is the one that appeared in their line of sight.

I can simplify this for you.

You have a treehouse with a password to enter. Someone approaches, and you shout out:

>who is best girl?

Now, a club member would know the answer is Asuka and be admitted. So, now for the ships. Pretend they are both treehouses and they can both ask eachother the question to verify identity. So one of those ships will challenge you. If you are fast, you can challenge the other ship now that you know the question. They will provide the answer and you can give the correct answer to the first ship.

Isn't it funny how you all become such good thinkers only after the truth is revealed? Where were you moments ago?

It was up to you to think about the various ways ships communicated. But you didn't, did you? Because you are simply a stagnant thinker trying to shift blame. Obviously the answer lied in communication. Had you truly thought about it, you would have gotten it, like the anon who got it.
>>
>>37935205
the patrol ships would have to have a separate question between themselves. if you approach and get challenged, but then you just repeat the question back to the patrol ship, they would have to answer because they don't know if another patrol ship has just challenged them. therefore they would have to give you the answer. therefore the challenge question can only be for non-patrol ships.

And there are obvious problems with this scenario right, but they aren't the ones you guys are bringing up.

The system worked as intended, it's not a breach of security to give away the answer, the ships would do that, but as a result of this incident, they retooled the code and answer system so this would be impossible.

This really happened in world war 2, with a vessel skating through a blockade with this exact tactic. I have some excellent books that might be of interest to you guys, since I think reading might help you out with your learning.

Do you understand that the system was designed in such a fashion where it was protocol to give the code in that circumstance?

it's like a computer. It's designed to work a certain way, but there are exploits hackers find. And then you patch them. This was an exploit discovered in wartime operations and it was patched up to prevent the trick being used in the future.

Very well. I didn't write this one, so it may be possible to find the answer on the internet, but well, it's one of my favourites and it's difficult to always come up with my own, even though those are the best kind.

At any rate.

>A newlywed husband and wife are driving down an old country road.
>Their automobile runs out of fuel.
>The husband decides to walk to the nearest station to obtain gas
>before he departs he instructs his wife:
>Lock the doors, roll up the windows and do not let anyone in the car but me.
>He glances over the cab before he leaves and it is just his wife in the vehicle
>he leaves, and that is the last time he saw her alive
>when he returns with the gas, the car doors are still locked, the windows are still up and unbroken, but his wife is dead and there is a stranger in the car.

What happened?

Actually, no, you fucking imbecile. The number he was thinking WHEN he made that post is what he asked for, not what he may have thought AFTERWARDS. Good job not understanding the fucking question, you pretentious ass.

>>37936117
Yes, but the blockade ships would expect any ship attempting to pass through the blockade to know the answer to the question (of they were on of theirs). Since the blockade ships are CLEARLY PART OF THE BLOCKADE, they wouldn't be asked the question, since they were always fucking there. So asking the question to AN ON DUTY BLOCKADE SHIP would be completely fucking pointless, and cause you to be blasted out of the sea.
>>
>>37936200
what he asked was:

>what number am I thinking of?

Seventeen is technically correct, although it was a bad faith riddle.

And yes, they would expect any ship to pass to know the answer. As I said, you would want to verify it really is a blockade ship, because it is possible to alter your silhouette at sea so you appear as an enemy vessel at a distance.
>>
>>37936298
But the blockade ships are all next to each other. A blockade ship wouldn't want to pass through the blockade, since they ARE the blockade

And the number riddle wasn't "technically correct," he asked for the number at post, that was what was implied. Technically, the answer can never be known, since he forgot himself.
>>
>>37936355
Well, I'm not obsessed with being right all the time. If you really want, I'll admit I am not able to solve impossible riddles. Seems you desperately want a win anyway.

I don't think that has much to do with riddle solving. When I was young, my father taught me to have a critic mind, not to accept the easiest way to see things, not to accept the way people want me to see things, and that's funny, because, the white cop killing a black cop is one of the things he used as an example once to teach me this.
But I think you're right, to try to teach people here to get better, one easy example of their likeliness to be influenced is the
