Well ignoring that you're probably just talking to betas. Here's why: There is something in biology call intersexual and intrasexual selection.
Intersexual selection is when members of one gender compete to gain the approval of the other gender.
Intrasexual selection is when a member of one gender selects from many of the opposite gender.
In most other species both genders usually engage in both of these types of sexual selection; but humans have males performing in intersexual selection and females engaging in intrasexual selection very strictly. This is true across most societies unless you're a sandy shitskin.
