Why are people so afraid of being a pedophile? Normies I can understand, they care about nothing more than social approval. But outcasts are exactly the same way? Go to a loli thread on /a/ and you can find dozens of people who proudly masturbate to drawings of children, and who have no shame in identifying as a "lolicon" (which is the Japanese word for pedophile). But so many of them will absolutely recoil at the p-word.
How can this be? Why do the lowest of the low, who revel in existing outside of "normal" society, conform so vehemently to this one particular value despite all logic? How can one word have so much power?

Lolicons are pedophiles but I'd guess lolicon is a subclass of pedophile made of people that try to contain their desires to where they are harmless. So maybe calling a lolicon a pedophile means making them equal to the people without control or scruples that just consume child porn which is naturally offensive to them.
