I've been working on getting an actual decent job for a while anyway, and that seems to be going alright too. They just emailed me today to come down to the prison and go do the tests to become a prison guard. Not really what I was after but whatever I guess I can do it.

But seriously, the jobs are out there. You can't really compete with me for what I am currently applying for right now because it takes months of preparation to get all the right documents. I was applying for another law enforcement style thing but I dropped off a resume for prison guard too because the qualifications are exactly the same.

There's SO many jobs out there, just think about all the people you see every day. Don't need a degree for the half of them.

because Trudeau is trying to make communism real in Canada. Like all communist governments they need to confiscate resources from the population through taxes to fund their ideology. Next year they are gonna force more taxes in the form of carbon tax, and do other commie shit like raising the minimum wage. Basically all the businesses said fuck it and went elsewhere, thats why theres no jobs

The problem is 90% of jobs aren't posted anywhere. Its all who you know and for your average shut in loser with no friends prospects are a little tough in a small town.

yeah small town game is ruff, if you're a shut in loser with no friends you should move to vancouver and be a small shut in loser with no friends there. Go where the jobs are.

I put on my resume straight up that they can send me anywhere. So I might end up working at the 60th paralell or something but I don't give a fuck anymore. I have no more interest in family, or acquiring women after I lost my first wife. I only have one or two goals left, and I can be in the middle of nowhere for that.

yes, i apply online, but directly to the locations on there.

for example for petsmart i signed in through their system, for a grocery store i directly emailed them. for a restaurant i called and then emailed.

i got call backs and interviews and got offered something for all three of them.

if you're not even getting interviews then idk what to tell you, but thats pretty weird because i know people who have been looking for manual labour and factory jobs and have gotten pretty good full time offers with zero experience
>>
>>37859031
I'm not really sure, I mostly just went around the river on my bike with the roommates
there are some bike jumps around the green trail, I think
and when we got bored of the lake or if it was super dirty or green we'd make little pools in the river out of rocks and bathe in those

I think there's a lot of fun to be had south of rutland, which is where I spent most my time

The area up near the university is amazing, too, spent my first year on campus and loved walking the trails

Sorry I can't give more specifics, I'm a simple man who just enjoyed riding down the river and watching the birds. One year I got quite familiar with a pair of bald eagles there.

>>
I live 8 hours north of Toronto.

I could probably find a job IN Toronto, or even in the greater Toronto area, but I can't afford to move there or live there to get on my feet.

I'm really worried about finding work.
I had an appointment yesterday with an employment counselor and she changed my resume to fit this one job I was looking at (she made it 2 pages wtf) and she looked over my application for that job.

They had an application package which you had to download from their site, and the link to it from the job posting website was broken. I'm hoping that prevented other people from applying for it, because I had to hunt on their website for a hour to find where the posting was.

Also it said that the application deadline was "Tuesday the 21st" which, Tuesday was the 20th. Today is Wednesday the 21st. They fucked up on so many levels. Not just the day/weekday, but not even having a functional link to the required application. I hope they fuck up again by hiring me.
They'll probably just hire the manager's son, though.

I don't want to be that guy that deals with families or whatever, I just want to be an assistant guy that works at night moving bodies and shit around.

You feel me? Idk if such a job exists here. I imagine it pays well though,
>>
>>37858131
Because they are the cushiest, easiest jobs around. You do little work, get a pension, get a great salary and great benefits.

The gov't enforces proper work conditions for their employees, but they do not push that for anybody else. Pathetic.

See if you can get into behavioral therapy. I dropped out and didnt get my psych degree but I was studying it and have had 2 different jobs in that field, one doing ABA with autistic kids and the other working with retarded adults in a group home.
Working with kids was fun. The adults not so much. Its an option though, idk. Good luck, dude.

Graduated electrical engineering last year. I've gotten something like 10 interviews in the last 12 months and absolutely no offers.

How the FUCK do you get a job in EE? I'm effectively convinced I've been blacklisted because of my active usage of 4chan that they somehow know of. I've been trying to apply in Seattle since it's close to home, but even there it's next to impossible to land an interview, let alone an offer.

the job market is horrendous... the fact that you have to travel to the great north to make a good living is proof that we're fucked. A bachelor's is now useless and a master's risks you being overqualified. The youth is getting fucked while the population keeps getting older and older. We have to support all these retired fucks and we can't even secure jobs. I really hope things change in the years to come because this is ridiculous...

Timmins? I'm in Sudbury.

I used to live in Toronto, and the job market (for non-skilled, at least) is about the same: it's shit.
>>
What pisses me off is how insanely fucking lazy companies are during the hiring process. For instance, I've been approached by the same company twice with a misspelled, poorly-target form letter, and was ignored completely the first time, and then was lied to about receiving a phone call the second time. They've been reporting the same position on LinkedIn for 6 months.
Seems like HR really isn't under any pressure to get results, and just goes through the motions to keep taking home a paycheck. Seems like the most useless fuckers in the company are the ones vetting everyone else.

Not an EE, but an IT fag. You have to know people, be likeable, or be a minority or woman. Companies dont care about knowledge as long as you make the grade cut and are likeable at first glance. Also you better have friends that can get you a job or you are fucked these days.

I somehow lucked out. Took a warehouse job stocking (difficult stocking, not grocery store shit), then they realized I had a degree and they moved me to admin. Life is just a boatload of luck.
