God, I love that thing so much, reminds me of times when I actually had friends and we played shit out of that console and life was pretty much worry free and days lasted forever, and that thing had so much good games. How did it my life go from that to so shit? PS2 is a big part of my childhood/teens

Anyway, I actually took my PS2 to use again after a long time recently and since a shit ton of my games I don't have anymore or are scratched, I use Swap Magic to boot OPL and play my games through network (my model isnt capable of free mcboot)

PS2 is undoubtedly one of the best consoles to have ever existed. Not only was it the first to bring DVD playability to game consoles, it had countless exclusive games and was easily accessible.
I originally had the fat one a year or two after it came out, and then sold it for the slim version. Wish I still had that fat fat though because supposedly it reads PS1 games better. You know, the ones that were black on the back.

Born in 1998, I didn't had cable or the internet growing up because my parents didn't had the money for that stuff. Mostly watched basic tv that consisted KPBS, sitcoms from MY13 and The CW, and watching VHS tapes.

I was born in 85 and I barely consider myself a 90s kid. I don't recall anything from the early 90s except for reruns that were on TV for years. Late 90s for sure shaped me more than like the neon sweatpants and fannypacks of the early-mid 90s.

It's much easier to think that you remember something when you entire childhood is lived online and through video games.

I supposed it also helps to have 9/11 and the Iraq War as reminders of what years were when.
