you may only post in this thread if
>you fucked up your life and received a 2.2 and below (or equivalent)
>you received a 1st/2.1 in a shitty degree that has no real world value
share stories and feels, I guess I'll start
>fucked up dissertation after doing really well in all other modules bringing me down to a 2.2
> all my hard work was now pointless
>all jobs relating to my degree want 2.1 or higher + 1 year experience
>even entry level lab jobs want 1 year experience
>pointless degree and unemployed with debt
>had to move back in with parents
>self worth all time low
well that's me fellas, now i want to hear your stories. maybe we can help ease the pain

Just got kicked out of university last semester for bad grades (<2.0 GPA). I've been a NEET for a month, which used to be fine except the last time I was a NEET was when I was 18 and just out of high school and at this point I'm in my mid 20s and can feel the walls closing in.
>was a "smart" kid and didn't have to study to do well in school
>middle school was much the same but warning signs started to appear in math during my last year
>high school was when things really started to fall apart, almost dropped out but managed to scrape by
>got pressured into university by my parents, which has been a disaster from day 1
Basically I never learned how to study and spent all of my free time playing video games or browsing 4chan because I had no friends to do things IRL with. What resulted is a 24 year old manchild with a short attention span who lacks the endurance to focus on anything of significance for more than a couple of minutes at most. My brain is absolutely fried.

That sucks man, I feel like a failure too. I'm 25 and I feel like I have wasted the last several years returning to education for nothing. Do you at least have some work experience?
>>37846513
I've never had a job in my life. Honestly I'm basically a 15 year old in a 24 year old's body. I've been thinking I should maybe try trade school or the military or something. I don't know but I can't be a NEET forever, it's really embarrassing seeing my younger sister do great in school and get accepted into all of these programs and stuff while I just sit at home doing nothing.
>>37846595
I think if you can start a trade or something that is a good idea. Honestly the most successful people I know of started off in a trade and eventually started their own business. Trade skills are always useful too, for example if you ever buy a house you don't have to pay someone to do all the work. The military I'm not too sure about, my cousin lost his leg in service and got 500,000. However his ptsd led him to blow it all in stupid investments
>>37846343
yeah I failed two exams once.
That's it
>>37846474
>>37846595
Fuck man i feel you i had kinda the same experience as i dropped out HS because i never worked hard cuz i could have A in middle school doing nothing. NEET since then
>>37846714
I have never failed an exam but I am horrifically bad at them. Even after months of revision, when it comes to the exam hall i get nervous as fuck and can't think straight, probably end up writing like a 3 year old
>1.4 gpa at the end of highschool
>went to cc and stopped going to class but didnt drop out
Kill me
>>37846786
can you apply for another course next semester?
>>37846786
forgot to say in>>37846814
maybe fake a bereavement or something like that
>>37846343
Does it count if I failed my Masters degree and have to live with the shame of including a PgCert instead of the M.Sc?
>>37846748
how can you be bad if you never failed?
>>37846929
well i generally get 70-80% in coursework and a solid 40-45% in exams which is pretty shit
>>37846343
Fuuuck OP why you scaring me, my results come out next month and after my 2.2 score last year I'm praying for a miracle, I just want a job outside of retail reeeeeeeeh
>>37846923
Welcome, brother
oregnia
>>37846958
I'm sorry to scare you but the world does not want us. It's annoying because the difference between my 2.2 and some people in know with a 2.1 is 1 or 2% but employers won't see it that way, my cv will go straight in the trash
>>37846343
my gpa at the uni and tech college that I flunked out of twice each is around 1.4
and yet I have a job where I make 82k/year as a database administrator, all because of getting an internship while trying for a degree in microsoft's IT program at my community college
>>37846963
Acceptance still feels hollow.
>>37846988
Same sort of, my 2.1 was 4% away from being a first. Fucking Solid State Physics.
>>37846988
Yeah that was the case for me, I scored a 59.5 average last year (LONDON), and the minimum for a 2.1 was 60
>>37847027
did they not consider bumping up your mark? I've heard they'll do that if your attendance was good and you're like .5 away from a higher grade
>>37847021
a 2.1 is still an achievement, especially in a high tier area of study
>>37847055
None of my modules had registers in them, I'm on the same level as a guy who didn't attend a single lecture
Im really confused, are you guys talking about a 2.2/4 GPA? cause if so thats completely fucked
>>37847191
this kind of highlights how shit lectures are, they vary rarely add anything to you knowledge and only serve to maybe give a clue as to what will appear on final year exams.
>>37847221
Honestly mate I learnt a module solely out the textbook and got a solid 2:1, the system is broken
>>37847199
being a bong i am not familiar with gpa but over here in university degrees are graded as follows
>1st class honours 70%+
>2nd class division 1 (2.1) 60-69%
>>>>>>power and employment gap
>2nd class division 2 (2.2) 50-59%
>3rd class 40-49%
>30-39% suicide fail
>>37847264
ohhhhhh k nvm
>>37846826
Im in trade school now
