>can't get a job even though I've got a masters degree
>everyone telling me constantly YOU'RE SO SMART YOU'LL FIND SOMETHING :)))
>a whole fucking year passes
>THEY KEEP SAYING THE SAME SHIT YOU'RE SO SMART YOU'LL FIND SOMETHING
Why won't anyone fucking do ANYTHING to help me except give me these worthless 'buck up kid' pep talks? Even the career services people at my college won't fucking respond to my e-mails. I'm so fucking tired of reading about how MUH MILLINEALS WONT DO WORK, I want nothing more than a job but nobody will even interview me, the job market is ridiculously competitive. I can't even get interviews for the shit jobs I used to work because I'm overqualified now. I haven't gotten an interview for a job with less than 100 applicants yet. I make top 5 every time on those but it doesn't fucking matter. Not #1? Go fuck yourself maybe we'll call you for something someday, good luck with life faggot.
I should have just fucking dropped out and become a NEET 10 years ago instead of wasting 8 more years in school, it wouldn't have turned out any differently.
And in which meme degree did you get a masters.
Masters in what?
If this is dubs, your degree is in African Dance Studies
>>37829465
its part of the system anon everybody expects you to start from the bottom (now where here) do you have ANY other job experience ? if not than you really need to get some. work retail for like 6 months and you'll be good
>>37829498
MPA/MPP. It's a professionally oriented degree from a top 4 school in the nation with a deep network within the region's public institutions. Doesn't make a difference, still can't find a job.
>>37829465
>Tfw dropped out of college
>Tfw mad respect from everyone who sees me working
>Tfw I make double the average American not counting benefits
>Tfw 4 day work week
Thank God I learned that quick.
What meme degree btw?
>>37829523
You know what it's NOT a masters in?
Computer Science
>>37829530
I've worked in the mayors office, state senate, public works dept, ect, ect. Doesn't matter. I have a year of general experience and everyone wants two years of highly specialized experience. Retail won't do shit for me.
>>37829540
Rip m8 getting a government job is hard as fuck. And people tell me nepotism is bad in corperations it's worse in government.
>>37829553
Daily reminder that every day more and more CS jobs get sent to India and more and more CS majors in the US are replaced with H1B workers.
Don't act high and mighty when Pajeet will take your job within the next few years.
>>37829540
What the fuck is that.
>professionally oriented degree
Nice buzzwords but what the fuck actually is it?
Is it STEM? Business? Software?
>>37829595
CITATION NEEDED
IT may be for Pajeet but actual software development is too advanced for poos.
>>37829605
Master in public administration.
Just you can't do anything unless you work in government to begin with.
>>37829575
Ah, so you're a parasite (cough, cough). Oh, excuse me, I meant "Ah, you so have a masters in public administration." I see.
Well, you're fucked until all the boomers retire and all their pensions are fully funded.
>>37829605
>tfw a brainlet who can't use google a 3 letter acronym is trying to imply he's smarter than me
also I scored in the 99th percentile for reading/writing on the GRE which means I am among the most verbally intelligent people in the entire country. You have to take into account the fact that most people pursuing graduate degrees are humanities majors who are focused on verbal skills over mathematical which makes me even more smarterer.
>>37829645
>PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION
>ADMINISTRATION
>MASTER
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
FUCKING WHY. A master degree for a fucking spreadsheet job that will get automated into irrelevancy anyway in 5 years.
>>37829540
Well maybe you should apply yourself and just go get a job bro. Wtf u doin on r9k, waisting time n complaining? !?! Smh
>>37829624
Man that's bullshit my cousin's husband is a pajeet and works at Redhat. There are plenty of pajeets in software development.
>>37829669
You do realize that an MPA is about more than being some bureaucrat right? Policy analysis and other technical skills are primary focuses of the degree which is why they changed the name of the program from MPA to MPP.
Not that it matters because you have to know precisely the right people to get those jobs apparently.
>>37829669
See you would think that but government is backwards as fuck.
I mean at my city owned utility the offices still use fax machines and run Windows XP.
This is like this for most of my county and I live in a pretty large city.
>>37829726
>anecdotal """'evidence""""
Sure there's also plenty of germans, canadians, britbongs, french and poles working on an H1B.
>>37829465
tfw i got a job but it stresses me out so fucking much i barely even sleep anymore
fucking cleaning duty
>>37829797
OP here, the last job I worked was literally cleaning sewers and storm drains.
I would rather do that than continue searching for a job if it paid a livable wage. Job hunting is that fucking bad. I would be content to suck shit out of sewers for the rest of my life if it meant I could afford to move out and never had to look for a job again.
if you know you can do the work the job is detailing, lie in order to get there. if you get the job, do the work and don't make trouble, they'll never find out.
>realize college sucks ass
>every degree is either worthless or soon to be worthless
>get welding certs instead
Best decision I ever made desu. Don't listen to your parents telling you to get a degree, kids. They mean well, but they come from a time when degrees still meant something.
>>37829669
Nah.
I have a bachelor's in public admin and have a gubbment job. Everything I do could be easily automated, and throwing darts at a list of buzzwords on a wall could generate policy as potent as anything OP or a legislature could ever construct, but normies get very, very scared imagining an algorithm running something like the law or domestic policy.
Bureaucracy is inherently vile, and I have a strong self-loathing for following this path, but on the bright side, I'm not even remotely worried about being displaced. I consider the best thing I can do for humanity at large with my job is express how fucking stupid and worthless everything I do on a daily basis is.
>>37829748
That's right. References, my friend. No one in government really cares about any of your "skills". This is legalized mafioso with none of the romance or grandeur.
Policy analysis is only superficially technical, by the way. Just admit that we both made a huge mistake and are to blame for the oppression of society at large.
>>37830116
Why so rude to the unfortunate robot who wasted a huge portion of his life on a meme degree? You should be pity him and at least post good reaction images.
>>37830116
I realized this about 3/4ths of the way through my political science undergrad degree but I couldn't stop myself at that point, and there are only two things you ultimately do with polsci undergrad, MPA or law.
Honestly I should have done law but I got memed away from it and into an MPA. I fooled myself into thinking that MPAs are less shitty people than lawyers, rofl.
Here I go again applying for an assistant budget analyst position as if I have a chance, I'm a fucking madman somebody stop me!
>>37830242
Because my fellow robot must deal with the trauma now and begin building anew.
It's hard, I know. I feel his pain more intimately than most anyone here. But we must acknowledge that we have screwed up, instead of pretending we did anything worthwhile.
It's important to remember that ALL degrees are now inferior to what they once were, and ALL degrees are less valuable now. No one should go to college unless someone else is paying for it and you care about what you're studying.
How much debt are you in, OP? If it's none, consider yourself a relative winner.
>>37830570
$0, but i spent the past 8 years living like a poor person and spending all of my money on a college degree i can't even use.
>>37829540
Avuedigitalservices? Jobs.un.org? Take the federal service exam?
>>37829669
It qualifies you to work for lobbying orgs, you brain damaged imbecile. You don't want to sit around and get paid six figures for doing little to no work? It's free money. Every public official in Washington is on the take, and you get a taste of that.
But yeah, enjoy fighting off indians for your job and the constant stress to perform and the fear of aging out after 40. And the meetings. My god. The fucking quality meetings.
Get back to us when you're 30.
>>37829465
master degree of what ?
i got a shit job i hate, why shouldnt i quit in the day 2?
havent slept at all i were just browsing porn all night
>>37829719
LITERALLY STOP BAITING.
>fell for the liberal arts meme
>make $96k/year excluding taxes
jr in college here going for a CS degree. Looked online for job listings in my area and all of them are around 10-15$ and require not only a degree but multiple years of experience. Due to some connections I was able to snag a job for the summer with my dad's boss. I am making 14$ an hour which is nearly double what my friends are making right now. My boss told me if I kept with him I could get a better job working with him or I could go be an apprentice under my father while still making a similar pay. Or I could go back to uni for 2 more years and still may not be able to get a job. I guess what it comes down to is
>Trade
or
>Job
>>37829645
>Master in public administration.
That's too bad OP. If only you had a masters in math. Then you could get a Ph.D!
>be me
>Ph.D in math
>any job I want
>$300k starting
It's all on you, kid
I was an unemployed NEET for a while when I couldn't find a job after my PhD.
Eventually I found one unrelated to my research, and I've been stuck at this boring job ever since.
There is no hope. I wait for death.
