What's so hard about it? You put your index finger on the thickest string while it drapes over the other strings essentially muting them. Then you put your ring finger on the 5th string two frets to the left of your index finger.

Hold one of your fingers over the strings you don't wish you hear. Not all the way don't to the fretboard, just enough to mute it out.

It can usually be done with the index finger or thumb. For power chords. Lay the index finger across the strings like if you were playing a bar chords. Then use the remaining three fingers to play the chord, since only three fingers are needed anyway.
