I think a lot of the unnecessary spacing comes from people looking at the little window that you make your posts in and judging when to start new paragraphs based on that. For example, right about now seems like an appropriate time to start a new paragraph, but its actually not really necessary since it s actually only a couple lines long at this point. Does that make sense?
