lemme tell you somethin

i've been in a lotta commie blocks and they suck. first of all - they only were supposed to be used for like 50 - 70 years, so they're decaying and some of them even start to collapsing.
also the stairwells smell like cat piss. oh and the apartment ceilings are really low and it sucks. apoligizing - am not sober

Not really but I've been in such buildings and if not properly maintained (ie 90% of the time in poor neighborhoods) there's shitloads of humidity and mold. The low ceiling is in fact true many times and creates a very claustrophobic environment.

But if it's an ok design that's reasonably maintained and with decent sound insulation, it's ok, it's like any other apartment really. Plumbing is always a nightmare in old building though.
