What's funny is that you frame it in such a way as to be a bad thing. It's not. WW2 brought about extreme property for the USA, and to live through the industrial, nuclear, space, and information age must have incredible. So much progress in such a short time must have been amazing to see.

The only downsides were the drug, women's liberation, and civil rights movements. You'd be lucky to check out before degeneracy got into full swing, though.
