Nice """""empire""""", roma

Don't try and approach a group, get one when its alone. Then make a comment about something relatable, like "Damn it's cold in here" or "wow this building is confusing" or "hey I like your shirt man"
Usually they'll be at least amiable, and might even reciprocate. Introduce yourself, smalltalk some more, and then maybe you can get to ask questions about what they do, hobbies, etc. Make sure to let them talk a lot but don't be passive, keep up and help carry the conversation if it feels like its dying
Relax and keep in mind that if this doesn't work or this normie doesn't like you that it's not a big deal, and that you can try again later

You will be surprised at how many normies have hobbies and interests that cross over into robot territory to some degree, like a venn diagram. Like a Chad that plays Overwatch or a jamal that is into Anime.

Music though is generally not a good choice for discussion, or politics.

t. cyborg who walks both normie and robot worlds.

You kind of can live that out if you read Ghosts of Cannae. The author decribes in detail what some modern military expert says it feels like to be 100% BTFO in battle and know the end is coming.

yeee I read it, it's quite good. you got any others to recommend on that period or the punic wars in general?
>>
Thats the thing, I've had so many conversations with normals over the years but nothing has ever came of it. I never made any friends out of it, I never had any zany events occur through it, I never got invited anywhere, and I never got introduced to a gf.

These days I don't even bother. I remain polite and answer their questions but I don't force myself to stand around and entertain them like I used to, I walk away as soon as possible.

Rubicon by Tom Holland is GOAT for Caesar related stuff, otherwise I'm afraid I'm a brainlet.
Sulla was a Chad by the way.

Overwatch is super big with normies, m8

>jamal that is into Anime
It's really common for black guys to be into the big shonen like DBZ, Naruto, Bleach, One Puece, etc ,etc
>>
>>37743106
It's pretty much my first real look in to the Roman Empire, So far it looks like Sulla was the beginning of the empires demise. Julius Caesar ran off to that king of name I forgot, some Asian province I think
>>
>>37743215
Mithradates? No, that was Sulla's enemy I think, but I'm pretty sure Caesar got mocked for taking it up the rear from the other guy
>>
>>37743255
Didn't Caesar get stripped of almost everything and flee to the east (Mithradates)?
>>
>>37743368
Not that I remember. He built up his military/ political career and traded banter with Pompeii and Cato in between BTFO gauls. Then that whole emperor thing of course
>>
>>37743204
Yeah that's my point. It's not like the 80s or even the 90s where nerd & jock cultures were segregated.
>>
>>37743431
>Rather than having him killed, Sulla contented himself with depriving the young priest of Jupiter of his office, and demanding that he divorce Cornelia. Caesar, astonishingly, refused. It was this near-suicidal act of defiance that led to him fleeing Rome with a price on his head. Only the continued intercession of Aurelia's relatives finally persuaded Sulla to pardon the impudent youth. The dictator gave way with a resigned shrug and a warning that the boy had an abundance of Mariuses inside him.

>Caesar was accordingly dispatched to Nicomedes, the King of Bithynia - who was indeed charmed by his Roman guest. Too charmed, perhaps. Nicomedes was believed to have demonstrated his appreciation of Caesar by taking him as a lover, a scandal that was to provide Caesar's grateful enemies with gossip for decades.

My bad he fled to Nicomedes and got buttfucked
>>
>>37742586
Watch Seinfield and a bunch of slice of life anime and the answer will gradually come to you.
>>
>>37743610
I got my timeline messed up, I thought Sulla was a few generations before Caesar.
>>
