>>

>>
>>37737176
Well I got into it as a teen with disgusting amount of time on my hands. Just playing while watching YouTube. Been on off for three years.

Just get a cheap one and learn some songs you like.
>>
>>37737176
Unironically go to U-G and play songs you know. Everything will naturally come to you with time.
>>
>>37737216
>epiphone SG
What kind m8? Not the special I hope.
>>
>>37737042
Tele
Yamaha RS 420
Yamaha acoustic

>>37737176
>buy guitar
>learn open chords
>learn muscle memory
>learn your favourite songs

The best way to learn new techniques is to play songs you like that use those techniques, as opposed to just repeating the techniques on their own. It gives you much better understanding of the musicality of the technique.
>>
My Sterling jp50 is best one is very good
>>
>>37737176
Google [song you like] + guitar tab and learn a bunch of songs until you get the technique down. Then you can learn theory or take it wherever you want.
>>
I still only have my shitty beginner strat
>>
>>37737256
Nah regular one, got it for my 13th birthday

Squire telecaster
Washburn steel string acoustic-electric
Washburn classical acoustic-electric

Been playing for about 10 years now

I've got a bandcamp page if anyone is interested

>>37737176
Pick a few simple songs and learn the chords, practice those until you're comfortable making chord changes quickly and then move on to simple scales the the pentatonic scale and BAM you can play classic rock guitar
>>
>>37737176
Buy a used guitar, they're cheaper and you can get a good one for the same price as an okay new guitar.

Learn a few chords, practice switching between them. C, D, and G shaped chords are probably best to learn first for most beginners.

Start training your ears from the beginning, this is vital if you want to be good some day. Good ears are what separate people who play guitar and people who become their guitar. Look up aural training vids on youtube, or get a teacher.

Lessons are worth it, but not necessary.

Strats are pretty standard for beginners, imo - they're versatile as far as tone goes and generally have comfortable necks. Make sure you try a few guitars out and pick the one that feels best to you. Ask the people at the shop for help, they're usually nice people.

I'd advise against ordering online, but that's just me.

One guitar series to look out for that can be found super cheap are called Fender Squier Series. These are American Fender bodies and necks with either mexican or asian electronics/hardware. Lots of people don't know this, assume it's cheap squier, and sell them as such.

I got mine for 80 dollars and it's one of my best guitars after replacing the hardware with stuff I had laying around. Pic related is what to look out for. Black Fender lettering with "squier series" on the round part.

If you buy online and don't want to spend much but want decent quality - check out Rondo Music, Eastwood (a bit more pricey, but they have good build quality), Guitar Fetish (no experience with these), etc.

>What guitars do r9k play?
Surfcaster
A bunch of modded Teiscos
Parts Jaguar
Mustang and Jazzmaster. I rarely play them since they were my grandpa's and I don't want to risk messing them up.

>>37737801
JM - Longer scale, warmer tone, kinda chunky sounding, imo
JG - Short scale, less sustain, has that jingle jangle, surprisingly heavy. Mine weighs 8.9 pounds...

I'm new to guitar but my family bought me this little diddler for christmas. I feel bad that I'm not good at it since it was quite expensive for a gift. I like playing it opposed to larger guitars because they are so bulky it makes them uncomfy. I would recommend if you're looking for a comfy guitar you can play in your lap.

It's called the APXT2 if you wanna look it up.

That Tele is the exact one I want. For some reason, I can't find one that's natural finish with a maple neck at local shops.
>>
>>37737176
Get it on steam and create an account on customsforge. You can download custom downloadable content (CDLC) for artists that don't want to license their music to the game.

I play bass though
>>
>>37737539
This is an awesome guitar. I got a Jazzmaster, same kind of pickups
>>
>>37738032
Yep, I got a squire. Really underrated guitars.
>>
>>37737539
