I have a degree and I work in my field. I pay my taxes and take care of all my responsibilities to society. What I do with the rest of my time is for me to decide.

I haven't been a gamer in years, but fuck you. If you take care of everything you need to, what you do with your free-time is your own choice.

Because they're fun, I guess. Low effort entertainment. What I don't understand is why most of these people are proud of being gamers. It's only slightly better than being pround of yourself for watching tv.

I actually haven't played any video games in years and instead spend my free time studying math, programming and languages. But it's all pointless since I do nothing of value with my knowledge.

People define themselves by their hobbies & interests and cultural identity is some serious shit.

No one under or over that age range is going be a self-defined gamer. They might still play games or be really autistic for like the arcade cabinet of Mrs Pacman or something but they're not going to be "gamers".

I almost never play vidya these days but they are fun.
Not everything has to be 100 percent serious all the time.
That being said, gaming isn't really something you should be overly proud of if you don't have anything else going on in your life
