See this makes you seem bitter. In my experience (which of course varies from person to person) you hardly ever see couples that are far apart on the physical attraction scale. In fact I feel like I see men dating up on the scale more often than I see women.

Also I think most people's ratings are flawed and they tend to think men are more attractive than they really are and women less attractive than they really are. For example the average ratings on /soc/ for guys tend to be between 6-8 when it should be a solid 5. Where as people will post pictures of porn stars and female celebs which they forget are usually FAR more attractive than the average person on the street yet rate them 5,6,7. Even if they are not to your particular tastes almost every popular mainstream pornstar or celeb will be a 9 or 10. I think we do this because of the widespread use of porn diluting our attraction scale for real women.
