I work 10s and instead of driving an hour a day I sleep at the job site. Everyone there is a workaholic and I'm not the only one. We have a small "hotel" at the job site consisting of beds and a gym type shower in a bathroom. It's pretty depressing desu.
>>37706090
how much time do you get to sleep? i work on something like a first come first serve thing but since im not getting that many hours i got cucked into taking this stupid assignment
i have a overnight job im trying to get but the recruiter likes to call me at times when im either sleep or working
Almost done with wagekeking for good, lads.
>graduating university a bit late
>spend two years working in transportation logistics
>decide to go back and wrap up both my degrees (BSc Neuroscience / BSc Psychology)
>don't want to take a new full-time job I can't commit to
>start over doing minimum wage bullshit as a delivery driver while working freelance on the side
>make more money from freelance gigs than my actual 30-hour per week job

>leaving for Latin America in a week and a half
>taking a RTW trip that'll take me through Mexico, Africa, and Asia
>not coming back until January
>come back home
>finish degree

>>37706163
how old are you now? and why not just go to japan and camp out in the mountains for a few weeks instead?
>>37706181
after taxes i might as well be making like 12 an hour so trust me iktf, i need to save 20k so i can invest half in some options and the other half i want to use to start a business
>>37706201
23 now - I'll turn 24 in August.
I've traveled to a few dozen countries since shortly before my 20th birthday and lived in one for a year and a half. I'm sure I'll eventually go to Japan, but I don't have any pressing interest in East Asian culture. That whole region, including China, Japan, and South Korea, has never appealed to me.
>>37706231
if you are gonna spend 10 years in school why not go for big pharm instead? you are guaranteed at least 90k and a qt asian gf to help you study for exams, also i think you only need like 4 years
>try to go to work yesterday
>vomit and get sent home
>try to go to work today
>vomit and get sent home
>rent is due at the end of the month
>no way to make up for the hours I lost
but at least i get to neet it up all day with the exception of sneaking off to the toilet to vomit
>>37706262
I have zero interest in Big Pharma.
I'm still not sure exactly where I'm headed post-graduate, but I know I want to be able to tolerate myself. I worked 9-5 for two or three years and I never want to do that again.
I'd like to earn a bit more money than the average bear, but I want to be working in a field wherein I feel both productive and somewhat fulfilled.
>>37706306
start your own business then, thats the only way to feel productive and fulfilled because unless its not something you can honestly say you dont mind doing everyday then you're fucked
>ywn work for Bandai or Medicom being in charge of making cool toys
>>37706347
That's the plan in the short-term.
I do a fair amount of freelance writing. I don't make bank, but I earn enough from a couple contracts and the occasional client that I can afford to take the kind of trip I'll be leaving on in a week and a half.
In the near future, I think I'll try setting up my own website and maybe a blog, too. The idea of a travel blog really turns me off, because everyone does it, but I already have a somewhat established audience of 4,000 people from another website I use.
Otherwise meh. Both the transportation companies I worked for were small businesses (you'd be surprised at how much money is in trucking), and the owners, even if well-off, were constantly stressed and miserable.

im giving you free business advice you idiot so listen up
you are supposed to turn that blog into a fleshed out youtube channel showing your travelling experiences, network HEAVY and get contracts and sponsors until you get your own show on the travel channel or you get an offer from someone who will buy your youtube series
since you are at the 4k mark i suggest putting out something to sell like a book, calendar, photoset or sell handmade replicas or something
you can even consider starting your own travel agency and just sell trips
>>37706456
>I am giving you free business advice by laying out a blatantly obvious plan chock full of possibilities I'm sure you've never even considered
>>37706491
please dont bully anon, i just want everyone to make it
Working tomorrow lads, need to get up at 5AM and won't be back until 8PM, 80 quid is 80 quid though right fellas?
16 an hour is pretty good
I was working in warehouse for 10$ an hour as temp for long time till I quit since they had high standards for full time employees
>>37707661
16 an hour is only good on paper since taxes in my state always cuck you to poverty levels
full time before taxes a week is 640, after that i take home 75% of that thankfully im not getting paid by weekly because then i'd get taxed even more
Going to my first nightshift in 5 minutes. Wish me luck robots
