why are gamers so cringey and awkward in their social interactions?

im just wondering if gaming makes you awkward or awkward types are attracted to video games

they spend 12-16 hours a day playing a video game living in a house with other people who do the same. They have very little real world experience

Definitely the latter.

People who have trouble in the real world like finding ways of escapism, which video games are very good at. In an earlier time they would read fantasy novels and such.
