This. I stay away from any kind of social media that isn't anonymous. I shriek away from any kind of tied identity on the internet. I never comment on anything, never post anything anywhere other than chans, where I can either tell the total truth, or just bullshit. It's not like I have anything particularly meaningful to say anyway, I can't understand people who think their thought are worth being broadcasted to everyone. I do have a Facebook profile, but I just post travel photos, occasionally like posts. It'd seem too weird to not have one.

IRL, I carefully avoid anything that might make me seem weird. I mold my tastes and personality to fit with whoever I'm interacting with. I do keep a core of inoffensive interests, tastes and personality traits, though, and hide interests that might seem controversial (or showing too much interest in even inoffensive interests). Basically, my power level is perfectly hidden.

I've been doing this for as long as I remember, and it's worked out pretty great so far. I show an image of a likeable, friendly, knowledgeable, approachable guy, and people generally like me. I get along with almost everybody, because I'm great at knowing what they want. Only downside is that I'm forgettable, and can't manage to create meaningful relationships. People will laugh with me, learn from me, listen to me, and then go back to their friends.
