To be honest sometimes it just happens that a thread will end when you get there, you were probably the last one to see it recently.

Think of it, you couldn't really say something that would phase 4chan into not wanting to reply, literally 4chan will reply to almost anything. Don't kick yourself because you think you ended a thread, it probably ended before/when you got there, and you had nothing to do with it.
